Cannons giving it a good go.. half the price mind.
£10 million in the Championship is £20 million in the PL.

Berge, Brewster, Ramsdale, Mcburnie the four most expensive; two successful, one middling, one not?My post wasn't an attack on Wilder, but I think most would agree they his "bigger" signings have not worked out so well.
Most managers can point at good and not so good signings.
Not me!!Think a few on here wish he stayed when he started scoring a few for Derby.
This was physically painful to read. Much like Brewsters medical.Brewster was outscored by Ahmedhodzic in his time here.
And he only scored one more league goal than Jack fucking Robinson.
I’d argue none of them reached their potential and could argue all were failures based on their fees (for us).Berge, Brewster, Ramsdale, Mcburnie the four most expensive; two successful, one middling, one not?
Did he need to consistently deliver to be a success? He was a good player, better than what we had. We paid an average fee for a PL midfielder and he was a consistent starter and was sold for a decent fee. It's very hard to consistently deliver in a team which was terrible for spells. One of our best players in achieving promotion.I’d argue none of them reached their potential and could argue all were failures based on their fees (for us).
Berge - never really consistently delivered despite being a very talented player.
Unarguably one of our worst signings ever. Without hindsight of his unbelievably unlucky injuries, it could've been decent.Brewster - nice lad but a complete waste of money we couldn’t have. One goal against pigs doesn’t begin to repay the massive disappointment.
Sold for a profit, and did he win our POTS? Unarguably a good signing.Ramsdale - one of the biggest contributors to our poor form and eventual relegation. Then went on strike as he thought he was too good for the championship.
He was good in our first season in the PL. Mixed bag with him, wouldn't call it a clear success or failure. Injured too often.McBurnie - one good season playing the level below we signed him for in a team stuffed with attacking talent. Still couldn’t keep for more than 4 games in a row. Brilliant signing on a free but he cost us £20m + wages.
£10m isn't enough for a PL striker. That we got what we did out of him was value for money imo.Mousset - £10m for 3 good months and zero sell on.
Neither worked out, but neither were big money signings. Then you’re into Freeman/C. Robinson territory.
Berge is a fucking over rated by our fan base it's unrealDid he need to consistently deliver to be a success? He was a good player, better than what we had. If he's an average PL player, he was worth what we paid and a good signing. Fulham have proven that. I'm rating him where he's at, mid table prem.Berge is a fucking over rated by our fan base it's unreal
He's playing for an average prem team and has never scored a goal for them
Get out of his ass he's fucking average
Just tells you all you need to knowIf you pay shit wages, as we have everytime we reach the PL, the chance of players being successful are so slim it’s almost non-existent.
Appreciate the reply , when he was at the lane people thought he was good enough to be at Barcelona......If he's an average PL player, he was worth what we paid and a good signing. Fulham have proven that. I'm rating him where he's at, mid table prem.

If they can't bust a gut for 20/30 k per week then we are the mugs for going to watch the twats
A Blades fan saying that someone’s not very good because they’re playing for an average prem team seems a bit hypocritical to me.Berge is a fucking over rated by our fan base it's unreal

I'd respectfully disagree re: Mousset. That purple patch was the main driving force that season and the reason we comfortably stayed up. £10m for another year at c£120m is well worth the investment...Did he need to consistently deliver to be a success? All signed to do a job in the Premier League, on that basis I’d say none of them were successful.Berge, Brewster, Ramsdale, Mcburnie the four most expensive; two successful, one middling, one not?
Ramsdale was our player of the season in the PL, then got signed by a PL club for a big profit and played for England FFSAll signed to do a job in the Premier League, on that basis I’d say none of them were successful.

Ramsdale only got picked for England on his form after he’d left us, he wasn’t picked based on his form at United, I’d also argue that there are so few English keepers in the top flight nowadays that of you’re an English keeper playing in the Premier League at present you’ve a decent chance of making the odd England squad.Ramsdale was our player of the season in the PL, then got signed by a PL club for a big profit and played for England FFS![]()
I blame him for relegation that seasonI'd argue Ramsdale was not a good signing. His 1st 6 months were very poor. Eventually got better, when there was no, or little pressure and then went on strike. I despise him and Lundstram for that season.
Yeah, our player of the season is to blame, not the rest of the team that were absolutely terrible not for the first half of the season, but the whole season.I blame him for relegation that season
He got signed be Arsenal based on his form at United, then started for them that season. Can't believe this is even up for debate, I think he's a nob for what he did to us, but if we're trying to form a narrative about Wilder being irresponsible with big money signings, Ramsdale completely undermines it.Ramsdale only got picked for England on his form after he’d left us, he wasn’t picked based on his form at United, I’d also argue that there are so few English keepers in the top flight nowadays that of you’re an English keeper playing in the Premier League at present you’ve a decent chance of making the odd England squad.
I think people often forget just how poor he was when he first signed for us.
He’s fkin sh*teFair play to the lad.
His career hasn't gone the way he, or we, would have liked.
He definitely is a talented footballer but he didn't get the consistent run of games he needed to pull it all together.
With re: value for money, yes - he'll go down as one of our worst signings but he seemed a really good lad as evidenced in the video above.
Sad to see him on crurches, only ever wanted good things for him.
