I wasn’t talking about the result - it was the attitude and willingness to get forward. I think anyone with perspective will admit that the Villa result was a lucky, scrappy one. Today, we played high up the pitch, pressed and got in behind them. Yes, Ramsdale put a goodly percentage of kicks straight off the park, passing was off in some cases and we lacked the finish but it was, for the first time in a year, a game in which we got up the wings, harried and created chances. If we continue like that we will win more games this season and be too much for most teams in the Championship.
 



I think Ramsdale summed it up in his interview when he said ‘we opened up more than we have recently’. They had a go and it was noticible that we were more attacking. Not saying anyone is going to take the job but it was good to see some decent performances today. Yes we lost but was good to see some more forward thinking. Anyone that doesn’t see today’s performance as a step in the right direction obviously has to get to specsavers.

Someone with a track record - hopefully. There’s not a lot around, and I fear for us next season. I can see Heckinbottom getting it, as the best of a bad bunch.

But that’s not really the point - which is, it’s ridiculous to attach positive significance to a 2-0 defeat and an upbeat press conference.

Surely that’s beyond debate.
 
I think with all the talk of how emotional its been, Rammers today making reference, thats not signs of a manager losing the players.

New manager rest of season bringing a fresh start and opportunity to start again - weight off shoulders i'd think. That and the fact their comfort blanket is gone and now its shop window/ build credit with any new manager time.

This is what i think we are seeing, rather than them not playing for CW, behave using Lunny as a reference.

It could become with big 91 with every league club getting massive investment, I'll leave you to guess which club would be the one left out

Bollocks. We created shit loads of chances in the defeat against West Brom, never mind the win.

What's wrong with people? I know we've been mostly shocking this season and played ok today, but we've played ok plenty this season. Why do people need to erase that?

Realistically, I’d say it was more than likely to be Howe.
 



I think today’s uplift in performance was more to do with it being the FA cup. It was a chance to actually achieve something, in what has been a dreadful league campaign.

I think 50 years of shyte is enough for anybody, and also gives anyone the right to say "enough's enough"

50 years ago takes us back to 1971 .

I would hardly describe the performances we saw that season and the following ones as shite . Nor would I describe many of the performances under Kendall , Basset , Warnock and Wilder as such .

It’s a shame that your expectations as a Blades supporter throughout that long period have been a tad on the high side and on reflection , you may conclude that you would have been better off following another team .

I and many like me have never entertained the thought .

I've done my bit of clapping for 35 years, the last 8 or 9 I'll take them or leave them.
If they don't impress me they can foxtrot Oscar.
If they're worth watching I will watch.

And considering that when I first started watching they would have had absolutely no problem in selling a 45,000 - 49,000 stadium out on the odd occasion when a really important game came along, but are now down to the bare bones of basically only having 27,000 - 28,000 fans left that they can call upon, I think it's safe to say most people have thought they can foxtrot Oscar over the years as well
 
I don’t understand why people are getting carried away with yesterday’s performance. It followed the same format as 90% of games this season.

1. played well for the first 10 mins then dropped off.
2. Let in a sloppy goal by not simply running out to the ball to close down.
3. Created 1 big chance and missed it.
4. Waited until the 2nd half and 1-0 down to have a go.

Admittedly it was much improved in Leicester but that wasn’t exactly hard.

I can’t wait for this season to end.

And as for what is happening at boardroom level???? Knill not allowed to travel offered a ‘fictional’ role upstairs, coaching staff brought in to the first team. Tindall coming off the golf course... there’s been more character changes than the set of Coronation Street. Hardly conducive to winning games of football and, more worryingly, doesn’t show we know who we want to come in and replace which, in my opinion, should happen now and not in the summer and half way through a transfer window.
