The other side have just released theirs, which has got me thinking... when will we disclose our own? Who will we let go? And will there be any surprises?

After tough negotiations with Foxy, I'm staying on for another year. No increase though.

Despite threats of retirement, The Crab decides to hang around for a bit longer.

With no immediate rebuild of the kop it was thought vorpal blade would be released, but Foxy wants an extension to the Rumour Mill, so another is retained.

I mean it’s only Wright and Donaldson that have expiring contracts isn’t it? I’d base the future of both on our ability to recruit.

What will be more interesting is who we try and sell or pay off this summer.
 
Reed and Long out of contract too. Hussey too I think.

Then a few young players like Bennett and Mallon but we have most under contract for next season.

Sadly Hanson, C Evans (2 years!), Lavery, LAfferty, Carruthers all still have another season under contract.

Long and Hussey have expiring contracts I think. Ah Deadbat beat me to it.

Ah yes, hadn’t looked at the “loaned out” part of the pinned thread.

Long’s an interesting situation. After the season he’s had he would have resale value if we signed him to a new deal. Wimbledon are resigned to being priced out of signing him...
 
I would guess be announced Monday. May as well finish the season and then do it.

Wonder if they’ve got anybody worth nicking that we could do a part exchange/swap for? Haven't followed them so dont know TBH, but might be a good solution for everyone.

Well quite. I believe that with him being 24 we wouldn’t even get compensation if we offered him a deal and went elsewhere. The only way he signs a deal is if he’s back in the squad, and I personally can’t see that.

It’s not a fees thing, but a wages thing – they won’t be able to offer him an upper L1 wage, which presumably other clubs would offer. They’ve presumably only been paying a fraction of his current wages.

Ah, I see. Would love to see him rebuild his career somewhere, whether its with us or not. Sounds like he’s going in the right direction now.

Always felt we let him down when we piled all the pressure on him. We shouldve got an old head (34+) in as a number 2 to work with him daily, but also step in for the odd game when things got heated. Who did he have to learn from? Simonsen? Howard? And then somehow, he was the older head alongside Ramsdale.
 
Found it interesting that tonight, a young lad that we released from the scholarship programme in April, has made his professional debut for Bradford. Not bad for a 17 year old that we wouldn't give a pro contract to. He's impressed someone in such a short time. I mentioned on a thread at the time how I was very surprised that we didn't give Hawkes the opportunity. Been with us for 10 yrs and every time I saw him play he stood out for me. But football is all about opinions, and our loss is Bradford City's gain.

He was not great for us, but he was hardly the awful player some would have you believe play for us and at other times he performed very well. He clearly had some confidence issues, which were worsened by a partially unsupportive fanbase. Away from the Lane, he appears to have found the confidence and consistency that most hoped he would find, along with a set of fans that rate him, and I hope he has a successful career elsewhere if he does leave this summer.

Wimbledon sealed their L1 status tonight following his clean sheet at Donny.

I'd agree with this. If we can't get Blackman in the summer then I think he'd be a very able deputy for Moore and would certainly push him for the shirt. Long has huge potential, looks like he's started to realise that this season so I for one hope we keep him.

Well, I've watched that several times now and didn't manage to pick out a single person who ran down to the front to shake their fist at him and tell him he's a f*****g useless c**t.
Seems the Wimbledon fans really encouraged and appreciated him and showed their appreciation for his commitment and dedication to their cause.
Good job he didn't come through their academy as 'one of their own' eh?

Could be worse:

Ross McCormack will receive a near-£1million bonus if Aston Villa are promoted to the Premier League, despite making no appearances for the club this season. Link
 
Brayford received a bonus for our promotion last year
That’s where a proportion of the Ramsdale money went
 
Not sure about Long's boxing career though...
 
Don't think we have many out of contract. Lavery maybe? James Wilson (CB, not the Man U one)? Long? Reed? Think the likes of Lafferty, Ched, Carruthers, Thomas, Hanson etc. all have another year or 2 left. Think all of the first teamers are still under contract. Loans of Wilson and Blackman will come to an end with them returning to their parent clubs. I hope we can do a deal to bring Blackman back.

We've offered JonnyRed(WCFC) to several other clubs but no one has shown an interest up to now so Webbo Foxy will probably take up the year option on his contract for services to breaking news in the shoutbox.
