Last season’s POTS award needed a “none of the above” option.
That he seemed to give a shit and actually maintained a level over and above his natural ability for most the season mattered to many at the time. If Souza or Anel had half his commitment, our pathetic season of shame might have just been a regular relegation.

It's easy to play well in a good team when things are going smoothly.

i really cannot believe weve given robinson another contract i think wilder is deliberately trying to get himself sacked for another hefty payoff its the only conclusion i can think of hes a lower end championship top end league 1 centre back and i can say now we definetly wont finish top 2 next season if robinson is 1 of our first choice centre backs baffling decision
His contract extension triggered automatically, Wilder confirmed it weeks ago.

Robo signing for another year is not all bad. Hang on before I get pelters. As long as he is a back up for a recognised center half that we get with money from player sales that will obviously happen.
Even Brewster getting a contract is not bad... hang on... as long as he is on shit load less than he was.
We have to remember that we got 92 points with these donkeys. We won a lot of games. OK, we were shite, but, we won a lot. Wilder still has the club in his veins so I am backing him again. A slight concern with Chrissy having millions to spend, but, would rather have him carrying on than starting again with some other manager.
UtBFtP.

On all available evidence, and without comment from CW himself, it's not beyond the realms of possibility that Holding was benched to allow JLT to notch up enough games to trigger an extension

Holding deserved opportunities to show what he could bring and help us over the line.

Brewster - it's absolutely no surprise that we're in discussion on a new contract. He's here until Wilder isn't

Oddly enough, I'm genuinely chuffed we lost out. The early indicators are that nothing has changed in terms of effective decision making to take us forward.

Give over. You’re being ridiculously one-sided now.
I'm ready to give in, log out and let the hate flow, so we'll have it all one way soon enough.

Saying he's league 1 standard isn't ridiculous, but pointing out that despite the narrative that he's a hot-headed, ill-disciplined thug, he's not been sent off, is ridiculous. Has he ever been sent off for us?

Proof if anyone needed it that a lot of our fan base are still living in the 90's where we played "up and at em football" under dinosaur Dave. I know shock and horror at what I have just written but it's true for most of the time since 1995 we have been shite, Warnock was a watered down Basset too who has never kept a team in the Premier league, Wilder is cut from the same type of cloth pashun and run abaht a lot his idea of tactics. The world has moved on since those days apart from the lower leagues defenders no longer as they say "get under him" with tackles that take ball and man into the front row of the stand you know the type of tackle that took BBD out of the game seconds after he came on last Saturday, you know the Jack Robinson sort of tackle. Sorry guys but he causes more discipline problems than enough without a goal gifting mistake every few games, yet the up and at em types on here love him .................. incredible.

Brewster was excellent at Wembley. He looks the fittest he's looked since he's been here. Goals apart - in the last few matches his heading and passing have been exceptional.

I'm up for 1 more year like Wilder is - the decision is not as daft as you are makng out.
Not sure if you were there but he was gash. Clumsy first touch, dispossessed in midfield on two three occasions in the first half- awful

Interesting theory regarding Robbo, though with a small flaw.

It hinged on Souttar being injured, had he not been injured, Robbo wouldn't have played the required games and would have left.

As for Brewster, feels a bit like the Mcburnie/Jebbison situation last summer, where it took until a few weeks post-retained list, to say that both had rejected their new contracts and left, Jebbison signed for Bournemouth at roughly the same time we signed Moore which was quite a few weeks after we released the retained list.

Wow.
Slagged off all 3 of our best ever managers in one fell swoop.
Maybe you should start booing when we show pashun and desire.

So, Robinson has an automatic contract extension. OK, he should be told he's not likely to be playing much and might be better off finding another club. He won't be told that and if the manager continues we'll carry on with the unsuccesful back 3-and-a-bit formation.

Anyone who seriously believes we can't find better attacking midfield options than Brewster, even amongst out-of-contract players, can't watch much football. Like anyone else I wish him all the best, but why the hell the club is "in talks" with him is a puzzle that would stump Britain's leading enigmatologists.
Name one then smart arse. ?

I agree, I was disappointed with Brewster on Saturday (aside from his involvement in our goal).

If the team were instructed to sit back in that second half then I would have taken Brewster off and and brought Seriki on and moved Hamza into a midfield position in front of the back 4. THis would have taken the pressure off Peck and Vinni.

I'm sure there was a game at the Lane, towards the end of the season where Hamza played effectively in that role.

Here's a thing, apparently triggering an extension also triggers a pay rise.

Good times at Jack Robinsons house 👍

No way, Burrows comes inside but Robinson was the one who got caught ball-watching and came inside as well. As soon as Mayenda saw that he peeled off and was in acres of space. Poor defending all round but in that build up play Robinson should have been tighter.
Robbo does a bit of a "Trusty special" (gets himself turned the wrong way round in relation to where the play is coming from and his man is).
With sharper positional awareness he could have either cut the pass out or given himself a chance of blocking the shot.
The pass was always going to his left yet he defended it as if it is going to be slipped behind his right shoulder..

Whoever we've retained Garbage is beyond me too, take the hit and release him, he idnt even a fucking footballer!
Where is the cost benefit of doing this?

I see people throw around the proposal of releasing this player or another who are under contract, and unless the player is willing to take less than they are owed, which is unlikely unless they're in a final year, I don't understand why it would even be considered.

Brewster will 100% have better financial offers than ours on the table should he wish. If he stays it will be because he wants to be here.
The suggestion that there are better options available on a free and cheaper is nonsense.
I like the kid bit if hasn’t worked here for him .. time to move on

Robinson is perfectly fine to fill the role he was brought to the club for…. Reserve CB off the bench … we’ve been brain washed over the years to believe he’s a starter … he ain’t
agree with you there but our manager seems not to know holding was probably a bit rusty but wilder still kept robinson in unforgiveable imo and cost us promotion he can definetly only be back up centre back next season we wouldnt have to look far to find better

Warnock doesn't even come close to our best ever manager. Maybe 5th at a push or 6th

Why would we release when we can get loan fees for him?

May be the case with several others too.

I doubt he could read 'The Beano' never mind a football game.🙄
