Retained list tomorrow

I think its tomorrow extra 4 days due to play offs, who do you want to see gone and who retained.

I think Robinson has been promised a new deal, i think we are overweight with defensive midfielders so could be trimmed for funds.

With the rumoured Souzza Hamer Anel departures could be an interesting transfer window which opens on June 1st

Most importantly I think the board statement is positive and look forward to developments over the next few weeks.

Distance, age and health may make this my last season going to games - whover we get, whoever is in charge, come on you blades.

Robinson's promise surely must be withdrawn after gifting Mayenda their equaliser at Wembley.
If he's still in the first eleven at the Lane next season , I won't be.

I'll be applying to have Wilder sectioned.

I don’t think we can afford Choudhury’s wages.. I think he’s likely off to Saudi if he leaves Leicester.

Let me throw this into the mix, how's about Wilder (if we keep him) getting a new number two?, Knill is inconspicuous on match days, never see him on the touchline having a word in Wilders ear, he's to passive and our tactics and fitness levels are not good, and I'm thinking is it jobs for the boys?, I know friendships are hard to break up, but we've got to do what's good for Sheffield United......and next season is a very important one,

Shackleton
RND
Robinson
Moore
Cannon
Brewster
A Davies
We might cash in on Anel as he goes into the last year of his contract.
I doubt any of the loan players will be with us next season.
I'd retain the players from our academy Brooks, Peck, Ablaster and Seriki I'd do all I could to keep Cooper, Burrows, Souza, O'Hare, Hamer and Campbell if the last two can play longer than a hour every week also Tom Davies if he can ever be fit.
What about Wilder's "number one goalie" , GBRIC ?

Nothing to do with the owners re JLT, it’s in his contract which he signed before the takeover.
Why don't they just buy out his contract , the slowcoach mistake ridden fecker ?

I'm sick of the sight of him.

He's emblematic of dem "fighting underdog Blades'.

FFS , we're not underdogs , we've got parachutes and new owners 🤬

Once he was moved to right back more permanently, I thought Choudhury was one of the first names on the teamsheet but is a case of whether a right back should be one of your highest paid players ahead of a striker or decent centre mid to likely replace Gus.

I think Cooper is an absolute must keep at all costs. If it means having to sacrifice Hamer/Souza/Anel then so be it.

I'd love to wave Robinson goodbye but he'll be here next season and I wouldn't be surprised if he gets offered yet another deal at the end of it too. He's the new incarnation of Neill Collins who inexplicably played 214 games for us (!) who we seemingly couldn't get rid of despite also being somewhere between OK and utter garbage every week.

We should look at offloading players like Shackleton, RND, Grbic if anyone's mad enough to take him, not bothered whether Brewster stays or not. Cannon's offered very little but we're stuck with him for the foreseeable unless we go up next season then he might be off on loan somewhere.

Jack Robinson and Rhian Brewster (i expect both to stay)

Then you have 6 returning loanees:
  • Holding
  • Choudhury
  • Rak-Sakyi
  • Brereton-Diaz
  • Clarke
  • Gilchrist
So we stand to lose 6 to 8 players.

I would transfer list the following:
  • Adam Davies
  • Jamie Shackleton
  • Rhys Norrington-Davies
And get the following out on loan:
  • Ryan One
  • Christian Nwachukwu
  • Jefferson Caceres
  • Jamal Baptiste
  • Harry Boyes
  • Sai Sachdev
  • Billy Blacker
  • Louie Marsh
Boyes is 23 isn't he? Not sure what he's still doing here tbh

What is the feckin point of kidding ourselves about a player who is clearly long term bolloxed.

We did it with JoC and look where that got us
Yep, can't hang around for him. We have had ample time to identify other CB targets by now and if we're serious about automatics it needs to be where the bulk of the transfer money gets spent. A watertight defence in this division buys you the time to get your attack up to snuff, as Burnley showed this season.

With Boyes I think it's a case of now or never for him in regards to his United career.

Either he breaks into the team or he moves on, probably the same with Freckleton tbh, think both of them are the oldest of the Academy players (not including the 22 yr old Caceres).

No reason why we can't sign him at some point (if/when he recovers), but we do need to sign other CB's for the present.

If by new year or end of the season we're confident he can have a future with us, go and sign him either in January or next summer (depending on his recovery).

By all accounts he enjoyed his time here, if he can prove that he's recovered his fitness and we can sign him, I'm sure he'd be happy to come back to the Lane.

100% correct but would only be effective if Wilder is open to alternative view points and ideas. There is also the trust issue, it has to be someone who isnot seen by Wilder to be someone who is waiting for him to fail to take over. Is Geary an option?

Do you know where you've seen/read that?

Leicester Mercury.

The severity of the injury means that Souttar will still be in rehab come the start of City’s pre-season, and potentially won’t be able to feature again until the end of the calendar year.

Ruud van Nistelrooy said this week: “I see him every day. He has a torn Achilles tendon. That’s been operated on and his rehab is going well, it’s going according to plan, but he won’t be fit for pre-season.”

if robinson stays he can only be back up can see us being in for souttar holding and possibly chris mepham also think jimmy dunne is nailed on to come in for right back with seriki with hamer and souza both likely to be sold will be interesting to see the midfielders we bring in
You honestly think we could get Mepham who has just been promoted with Sunderland?

Bit harsh, he's been OK.
It's hard to get an experienced keeper, who's happy to be backup

I’m expecting two CB’s in with Anel moving on.

Robbo on bench for a year as when Souttar was here is ok by me.
Robbo on bench ? Are you crazy ?

That's exactly what happened this season and one freak injury gave us a shortarse traffic cone in the 3 defeat week & Wembley.

Said this before, a few times, but the late, great, Brian Clough wrote in his autobiography, something along the lines of defence being the first, and most important, thing that he built in his teams. Above a great keeper, a great play maker, a great striker, it was defence. His reasoning was that if someone gets past your defenders and is one-on-one with your keeper, at that point, it's 50/50, they either score or they miss/keeper catches, etc.

He didn't want that 50/50 scenario, so you don't let anyone get to be one-on-one with your keeper.

In front of the defenders you put an enforcer, who slows play down between midfield and defence. That means your defenders have time to set up, when the opposition are attacking.

Of course, getting good attacking players is important, but his reasoning was that with the above approach, the worst that could happen was a 0-0 draw.

I'm not saying Cloughy was 100% right, but when I read that, years ago, it all made sense (to me, at least).

So your captain is a failed CB who everyone hopes is not in the team ?

What an utterly bizarre Wilder inspired dose of Bladey Blade underdog tripe.

How the fuck do you expect to boss a Championship with that kind of crazy nonsense ...

Keeping a man in the team as captain coz he likes fighting with strikers , giving away fouls , giving away the ball ...
Oh , but
He's a CULTURE CARRIER 🙄

What culture is that then ?

The culture of failure ?

Personally wouldn't mind him staying, bring a new backup GK anyway, demote Davies to 3rd choice and maybe look at getting Faxon out on loan.

Even if it's just to the National League at the moment, it gets him used to first team football that he isn't yet used to in U23's.
Have you met Faxon ?
He's not very tall and has the physique of a 12 year old.
It's years till he's ready for the Championship , if ever.

I know some don’t like him but Robbo is more than good enough to be on the bench of Championship team and I expect him to take up his option. The fact that we didn’t replace Souttar in January with a player fit enough to play is another matter entirely.
