Sometimes opinions of the national side are really biased and effected by their club football loyalties.

Made me smile last night listening to the Sky panel of experts discuss McGolderick.
Their view mirrored many on the SU forum in that they said McG has class, composure, awareness and brilliant link play.
But they said the problem is he doesn’t look like scoring and isn’t a natural striker.

They said he needs a goal poacher next to him but if Ireland only play 1 up front
Then they need midfielders who make forward runs and can finish.

I was thinking that basically they could do with Billy Sharp and some marauding centre backs (like Basham and O’Connell).

There all Manchester United and Liverpool fans, doubt they have much against McGoldrick and Stevens.

Stevens isn’t playing in the same role, and is playing in a poorer side. And McGoldrick is playing up front in one of the least creative teams.

It was a poor game last night , only cost €35
nobody shone really , McGoldrick played ok
Great shot off the post , Hogan continually offside
Enda seems a bit lost , don’t get me wrong he had a decent game v Denmark but with only McClean in front he doesn’t seem as composed as when he plays for us
That guy from wolves should start , but in my opinion in midfield, and the sooner Keogh s out of the team replaced by Egan the better
Ireland are an ok team , Irish fans watching to much premier league stuff if you

I watched the last 20 minutes and McGoldrick was involved in everything. It would've been interesting to see a 'touch' map because he was constantly in possession of the ball in Gibraltar's half.

Something dawned on me last night watching Didsy - in my lifetime the best, technical strikers I have seen at Bramall Lane are Deane, Beattie & Shipperley. I believe, fitness permitting, McGoldrick will soon be in that category. His awareness, vision and movement is top quality.

Even though this belief is based on a glimpse of a performance against a very poor side in Gibraltar & a season in the Championship, some attributes will be a threat to any side at any level, including the Premiership.

Didz is pure class if he hadn’t have been injury prone he would have played in the prem his entire career

And would have had a few caps for England
