Happy New Year, fellow Blades.

At the beginning of a new trip around our star I get to thinking about the future and what may happen. Here’s this year’s epiphany.

If Daniel Jebbison breaks through and fulfils his potential with the Blades and scores ooodles of goals for Dem in the Prem, for many years and we rename the kop after him. Will it be for always referred to as “The Jeb End?”

Jeez some NYE sesh that Kenny 😂

Back down on planet earth however….

Was going to post the question
“If we got an offer of £20m per season to rename BDTBL the “car depot arena” or something, meaning we could refuse any potential bids for Illy or Berge, would you?

However but of research suggests Leicester take about £3m for King Power, which I would suggest is comfortably double or treble what we would get, in which case heritage of BDTBL is a keeper.

Hope we never, NEVER, change the name and succumb to that sort of shit. 😳

Never in a million years

I would rename it the South Yorkshire safety advisory group stand

Somebody’s been carrying on with the Xmas and New Year festivities, although imagine the same if we signed Sam Bell from Bristol City……I’ll get me coat!
Art mirrors life.

In the late 80s, Port Vale had a second hand car dealer chairman, Bill Bell and he sponsored a stand and although it was called the WT Bell Stand, it was known colloquially as the Billy Bell End 🙂

Not the name of a stand as such but at Buxton for years the main advertising hoarding next to the goal was for a local plumber called 'Paul Mycock'. Genuinely.

It'll have to be the "Flaccid Jeb End" because you can't stand up

Or buy the empty seat next to you for your imaginary friend... 🤡
Ahhhhh,
are you waiting for your pathetic mates to join in and give me a hard time for making a joke at United's expense ?

I don't really see a valid argument against selling naming rights.

Everyone connected to the club would still call it Bramall Lane.

I'd rather the club not turn down easy money for fear of triggering fans who live for getting annoyed when we're referred to as Sheffield etc

The idea that neutral fans and media using a sponsorship name would somehow disrespect history is a bit weak.

I'd rather have the extra squad player, or a PL level player over a Championship level player, that an extra £1m a year would allow.

If we're really debating sponsorship, I'd rather the shirt be blank. I don't think there's anything I'm really bothered about seeing a sponsor's name on apart from the shirt.

I find the Glazer's attitude to selling Old Trafford naming rights bullshit. They say it would sacrilege but they've sold the rights to practically everything else and they run the club a proper cash cow. I think they're worried that Old Trafford is such an established name in world football that potential sponsors feel their name would drown under that history. In the meantime they play with that monstrous Chevrolet logo on the shirts.

Good job ManU didn't rename the Stretford End after Nobby Styles.
