Relegation could it happen?

I'm not sure that even if we lost every game we would go down.

I don't think we will lose every game.
You can if you like do a predictor, remember your scores for the accy of course too. Like the link below, I fixed it so we didn't win any more fixtures and after mixing up the fixtures a bit we ended up 22nd on 50 points - Relegated.(nearest team ended up being Blackburn on 53, we "went down" with Oxford and Wednesday

I don't think it will happen as I think we will get a few points here or there to the end of the season and it would take, Leicester, West Brom, Pompey, Blackburn and Charlton to have an impressive run of results, although it's not out of the realms of possibility for at least a couple of those to do so, I don't think they all will and we won't pick up anything.

here are the stats for 21st place

19/20 - 49 pts
20/21 - 44 pts
21/22 - 41 pts
22/23 - 49 pts
23/24 - 51 pts
24/25 - 49 pts

Unless we are going for the record of going down with the most points, one more win and a few twitchey bums can relax.

I don't think it will happen based on the fixtures we have and the amount of teams below us, even discounting Charlton, it is 7 points to the next set of teams and so on, so they really have to close the gap but based on 23/24 not forgetting we are on 50 we would be down.

Oxford have got to play millwall wrexham derby and hull
Pompey have norwich boro cov ipswich
Those 2 in particular have some horrid games
They also play each other
Supposing they perform miracles and get 13 points each from remaining games they'd be on 52 and 53
A win and a draw should be enough
Its not like we're playing badly were just gassing out and a bit crap at defending.

Next up Swansea and Bristol city 2 dead rubbers
Win one of these 2 and we can all relax

Other dead rubbers being preston, and possibly watford.

Overall the odds are we should be ok but I agree in so much that 50 pts wont be enough. Pigs have shipped so many that the average will therefore be higher

Let's win one over Easter weekend and then hopefully the pressure is truly off
What pressure! It's done we are safe. You could say we have a chance of the play offs ! Realistically we havnt a cat in hells chance! The season is over!

Oxford are down for me Pompey are on a dismal run still don’t like the idea of finishing 4th 5th or even 6th bottom that would be shocking

We have as much chance of going down as Wednesday staying in the Championship.

Imagine if it went to the last game, Derby away. That would be it. Game over.

To me it’s about finishing the season strong not in a wimper

If we go down this season then I will run down Fargate in a mini skirt singing the Hallelujah chorus. End of thread.

It was no in 2025 and it is still no now, jesus christ the number of negative glass half empty fans we have is only beaten by Man City

Personally I think after the return honeymoon period was over and probably after the 3rd time of being in pole position to close the gap in front of us into the playoffs and all that excitement and hype that brought with it but we had a whimper of a game with no backup plan, yet again failing to hold onto a 1-0 lead. It’s more a park it to the cautionary corner and try and stay positive for what we can do. With the remaining fixtures realistically we could lose all of them and still be ok as there is a big gap with teams like Oxford and Pompey having a rough run in. But it would be nice to pick up some points and go to matches where the pressure is off a bit.

We don’t want to fall into cliques of anyone can beat anyone in the Championship as if a few clubs find a bit of form and we can’t get out of the rut that we are currently stuck in we could be down. It’s highly unlikely and 1 win or a few draws might take it over the magic number but since Wilder mentioned in the presser about we had a chance against West Brom of getting past the magic number of 50 points we haven’t yet been able to do it. Hopefully the international break gives some time for some to rest
