Blades finish: Locked in a heady battle for 17th/18th with Preston.

Promoted: West Ham, Wolves, Southampton.

Relegated: Blackburn, Bolton and Lincoln.

Biggest disappointment: Burnley will underachieve by their standards.

Curveball: Bristol City. Having recruited well, this is the season that they will make the biggest go of it and may upset quite a few along the way, putting themselves right amongst it.

What I will say is that this season stands to be the one in recent memory in which you have so many sides spending considerably. Wolves, West Ham, Southampton, Burnley, Boro, Bristol City, Wrexham, Norwich, even Stoke. There are too many sides there and not enough promotion places to go into. It’ll be interesting to see what the fall out of that is.

There’s not a chance we even trouble the playoff places – we lack depth, quality, creativity and athleticism.
