Relegation could it happen?

I think we'll end up a bit closer to it than anyone will be really comfortable with but those teams at the bottom are seriously out of form. I think it'll be Oxford & Portsmouth that get dragged into it with Leicester and WBA having enough quality in the squad to drag them clear.

We'll end up in 18th.

If my maths is right, there are 71 games left to be played. 12 of those feature head to heads between teams on 51 points of lower.

So in theory whilst if we lost all our remaining games and everyone else won all thiers, we would be relagated on 50 points and Leicester and Oxford would be on 60 points. This can't happen as the teams play each other.

It would be nice to get a win or 2 to be mathematically certain but not going to lose any sleep over this.

In reality, we need 3 or 4 points out of 7 games to be absolutely sure.

We've been crap the last few weeks but we should at least be getting something from the likes of Swansea, Bristol City who are in freefall, Preston and Blackburn when hopefully we'll be mathematically out of trouble by the time we play them.

Mathematically, it is still possible. However, looking at it rationally, it's really unlikely.

We're 11 points clear of the bottom 3 with 7 games to play. I think the standard of opposition we have left to face gives us prime opportunity to pick up the few points we need to make survival a numerical certainty. Swansea have lost 3 of their last 5, Bristol and Preston have lost 4 of their last 5. All 3 are games we should be heading into, firmly of the belief that we can come out on top.

Oxford have got to play millwall wrexham derby and hull
Pompey have norwich boro cov ipswich
Those 2 in particular have some horrid games
They also play each other
Supposing they perform miracles and get 13 points each from remaining games they'd be on 52 and 53
A win and a draw should be enough
Its not like we're playing badly were just gassing out and a bit crap at defending.

Next up Swansea and Bristol city 2 dead rubbers
Win one of these 2 and we can all relax

Other dead rubbers being preston, and possibly watford.

Overall the odds are we should be ok but I agree in so much that 50 pts wont be enough. Pigs have shipped so many that the average will therefore be higher

Let's win one over Easter weekend and then hopefully the pressure is truly off

Looking on the positive side we could do the double over the pigs again, Wilder would like that if he was still hanging on to his job

Just need one more win to be safe I think..

But I was saying that 3 winless games ago …

Apart from playing badly and being crap at defending everything is fine.

Even though our losses record is a joke we've won 15 games this season. Im sure we can win a couple of more in 7 games against some average teams.

Mathematically, yes. Probabilistically (great word), no.

No Wilder came back and stopped it from happening. No reason to change manager wait for next season now.

Mathematically we COULD go down.
But it's highly UNLIKELY we will.

Having said that,........................ You never know

It won't happen. This season wilder has not gone more than three matches of losses without then getting a result. For god sake we only need 3 points from last seven games!

no its not going to happen

all i like how optimistic you are about Leicester & Portsmouth chances. but incredibly pessimistic about our chances. Leicester & Portsmouth are going to take 12-13 points from their remaining 7 games when theyve both managed 7pts from their last 10.

we are going to lose all our remaining 7, despite being 10th in form table & taken 14pts from the last 10
