If this turns out to be true, you have to take your hat off to the Board/Bettis/Owner/Manager etc - They learned the pitfalls of signing someone like MGW and the next time the opportunity arose, they build contracts to negate those issues. Smells a lot like a club being run as well as can be.

Ndiaye has shown he is lacking in front of goal and Berge and Khadra didn't score many between them last season.

We're lumping everything on Billy Sharp again, which I think is a bit negligent if we're serious about promotion.

A bit unfair on N'Diaye I would say in the last few games of last season N'Diaye really stepped up.

I think we have the players to win games (including Khadra) but I am more concerned about keeping players fit rather than pissing money away on more players. The way some are talking on here it reads like we need about 3 players for every position nevermind two.

I do agree we can't rely on Billy Sharp again this season, it is not fair on him especially if we want to keep him fit for the season.

Sounds like a decent deal for all parties to me.

If he has an outstanding season and we get promoted, we'll get him for a cut-price fee.

If he has an outstanding season and we don't get promoted, he'll have offers from better clubs than us. (Think MGW)

If he has a poor season, we're not lumbered with him for seasons to come and eventually have to release on a free because nobody wants him (happened/happening with a lot of our recent acquisitions).

N'Diaye is a quality player but he isn't a goalscorer or a striker. I noticed the Mansfield highlights he missed 2 one on one again like he did against forest in play offs.

Why do you say that? Some of his goals last season he took brilliantly, see fulham at home first time on his wrong foot. Yeah he missed some, but what striker doesn't. The chances he missed second leg v forest were good goalkeeping in fairness

But we can't rely on that optimism.

I think we need an insurance policy.
A been around the blocker to fall back on in case of injuries / form loss.

Don't get me wrong, a player like Grabban isn't the dream and he isn't the future.
Would love someone like Keinan Davis, but we have to work to a budget and with Khadra coming in I assume there isn't much left.
