Recruitment moving forward

We are about to enter December after an appalling start to the season. As bad as it might seem, why all the discussion of a “fire sale”, just because of such a poor start?
We should have held a Christmas party in August (ala Bassett) because we don’t start firing up until the Christmas games.
I’m trying my best to be positive, but everyone seems to have dismissed our entire strike force, in order to get ready for the championship next season?
You really are a ‘glass half empty’ lot, giving up this early in the season.
I might have to give up on my predicted top half finish prediction, but we should not be discussing a fire sale just yet. It’s too defeatist this early.

I think people underestimate the difference in class the Premier league is to the championship. If we went down and kept 80% of this squad and CW as manager. I'm 90% sure we would be top 6 next season and 70% top 2. It's about not panicking if/when we go down.
As long as we don’t announce a “bouncing back” season ticket we might be ok.

The best we can hope for is a couple of loans for players who lacking game time (LCB and RCM). With the Euro's coming up in the summer we might be able to pick up some decent players. We desperately need some legs in midfield, Norwood is gone, Fleck is woefully off form and Berge plays well for 10/15 mins a game. They offer no protection for our back 3 and we always vulnerable on the break. Ampadu sat in front of the back 3 will improve us.

Loan McBurnie and Norwood out to Championship sides and give them a chance to rebuild. Wilder is tried to stick by McBurnie, but enough is enough now. Alot of people have mentioned recalling RND, but Wilder said the other day that he's staying at Luton for the season. Personally, I'd take him back and give him a run, then loan out Lowe.

Jones was shite for us. He takes the man rather than go for the ball. I prefer a ball winner who goes for the ball than the man

I did not rate him particularly as a player but he did have some affect as a leader if you listen to the players/Bassett from that season. He gave us some toughness. For all the criticism Jones was a top flight starter most of his career for clubs who finished around mid table. As I say he was more reputation than substance but that enough intimidated some midfields.

He would not last 10 mins nowadays of course!

My point was we need someone who can come in and galvanise the team. We are soft and have no leadership. See no-one rallying the team or even pointing fingers. Need someone to shake things up a bit.

Ah! Leadership, I know what you mean by that. Yes we need someone big and vocal in the middle. I agree with you that he would have got sent off every match if he was playing this season
