Mentioned this on a thread last week and following the weekend, Chedders is now our 12th different scorer this season after only 9 games. Must be some kind of record but does anyone know what the record is for different scorers in a season ? I seem to remember we were close to breaking it in 05/06 so I'm guessing it's late teens.

Collins will score at some point, Lecs is not afraid to shoot, there's Philli, Flynn and bound to be new faces added so we must have every chance this season.

Think I'd be pretty happy if it was somewhere around 15-17 chipping in with 2 or more each, obviously with strikers all getting 10-15+. Can't say I see Lecs getting a goal but I can't knock him for keeping trying. I would like to see Philliskirk get his chance as he seems to have an eye for goal and for now I think Flynn just needs to be making more of a showing.

Several players chipping in with goals is a pretty good sign of a powerful and confident squad, but when it gets too far into the teens it could be a lack of stability as much as strength in depth. Where possible we want the same 14 outfield players in the 16 named squad and that unit of players being the majority of our goalscorers

I agree about consistency, it'll be interesting to see how we re-shape at the other end without Lecs this week for example. There's bound to be changes and loans coming in, players maybe leaving so I think there'll be plenty more chances for others to score even if the core of the team remains the same.

I thought it ended up with more than that, something like 23, but not 100% sure

More recent than I thought then :o

21 in 08/09 according to soccerbase, Dazzler's list plus Bromby :)

Correct - I missed Bromby - his goal which may or may not have crossed the line at Coventry on 4/3/09.

I will go and slit my wrists now :-(
