Greetings from sunny Motherwell, how's Long been playing in goal? We were hoping we might get him back for another season on loan! He played a couple of blinders against the pretendy Rangers in the play offs and thought he might have stayed a bit longer.. Btw, how are Smurf and Higgy shaping up pre season?
 



Not much news about transfers, we have only signed one player so far. The lack of signings wouldn't bother me as much if Adkins didn't say the squad wasn't strong enough for promotion.
We are trying to sign Sharp again, hopefully this time around it works out.
Got a new pitch and new dugout as you can see above, the owner may also move to England if we get to the prem and oh yeah we have 6 captains in the team.

LONG has been steady in the few pre-season games we've had as he's had nothing much to do at all. I can't see him going out on loan as we've released one goalkeeper already and the first choice, Mark Howard, has picked up a niggle in pre-season, as well as an existing back problem which plagued him last season while George was out on loan. Because of this he had to be rushed back as the form of Ian Turner, the one that was released, took a long walk off of a short pier, which didn't allow it to heal properly. As well as that, the new boss wants to give everyone a chance to fight for their place.

MURPHY is the best player at the club and one of the best in the league, something which the new boss has said on many occasion and stated he will not be sold at any price! He's been in good form in pre-season and has had a hand in goals. He's very much a confidence player and it's clear that he's got it at the minute as he's running at and beating defenders which is always a good sign.

HIGGO looks a different player this season as he's lost some timber and is generally a lot fitter. He's become less static and more mobile and been a presence in the pre-season games meaning that he has created and had a number of chances. He scored a fantastic volley the other day against Cheltenham ( which was caught on camera by one of our admins and is viewable here.) So some positive signs and I think he's on course for 10 to 15 goals this season as well as many assists if we play the big man little man combination that we have been.

All in all, things are looking positive for us.

Good to hear Long getting a run in the 1st team, he's definitely got all the attributes to be a very good keeper, he needs to boss the box a bit more though. Well our loss is your gain so fair do's!
I have to say I was worried about the shit house rumours up here about dirty Leeds sniffing around for Smurf, would have been gutted if that had come to pass! Has he signed a new contract?
Big Higgy, a lean mean scoring machine?!! TBF, for a big lad he has fantastic close control and if he's a bit lighter and fitter he might even get off the ground to score some headers!!!
All the best for the coming season, here's hoping for a promotion party in May..

Them rumours were about down here too, there was (speculative and hopeful from L**ds's point of view) talk of Murphy going to them as part of the Sharp deal. Fortunately, these rumours didn't turn out to be true. And yes, Smurph signed a new 3 year contract midway through last season.
 
We'll get promoted this year....Hopefully back to back promotions like King Nigel II did at Southampton....
