Are you suggesting the posts above (particularly the ones from Carlton Blade) re: the rule changes don't apply because we signed him before Brexit happened? As I understood it, his being loaned out to Belgium was in part to help develop him but in part to help with a work permit down the road. But now AC Milan are in for him, it's worth asking the question whether the work permit thing is still an issue.

The rule changes are going to make it easier for PL clubs to sign overseas players not harder.

What's all this bollocks about work permits he became our player before Brexit so we would not be signing him as of now. He is playing in Belgium on loan from SUFC don't forget. So it would be no easier for AC Milan to get round a work permit than it would for us.

Our resident Beerschot fan doesnt think hes ready for the PL as he has a tendency to lose the ball in dangerous areas in his own half. Hes only 19 and has some learning to do by the sounds of things

If him coming here is a long term plan (and he's happy with the Championship) I'd leave him there. He'll gain more being a key player in a good side scoring goals than a bit part player in a poor side (relatively) that can't attack

That’s true footballing wise he will definitely benefit from playing for beerschot. I was thinking along the lines of if he is in the plans for next season get his adjustment period in a new country out of the way so he can hit the ground running.

Oh fully agree. It'd be great if he could come in and somehow help save us from relegation but that's ultra unlikely, it's mainly about planning for next season now.

Imo they’re looking for bargains and if the club stand strong coulibally won’t be one but I agree if he comes back next year he has to play. Broadbent going there probably shows we’re please with coulibally’s development and think beerschot have done a good job with him.

The rules now allow for points to be accrued (you need 15) based on where you play your club football and at what standard (extra points for how successful your team are and if they play in Europe)

It would I think they’ve seen what certain German clubs are doing in the English market and are so far behind domestically that they’ve identified that as the strategy to get them back to where they want to be. Unfortunately for them they do t seem to have the contacts in academy football so are looking at emergent players lower down the pyramid.
