From the letter leaked by our good friend Len on page 1 of the Investment thread, the bit that concerns me a little is this bit:-

"This game changing reshaping of our fine and proud Club is in recognition by our new colleagues of the long standing traditions we have as a family and community orientated football organisation with a rich history and heritage from nearly 125 years of existence".

Now, why would they wish to emphasise this, prior to the announcement of details ? I hope I am worrying unnecessarily ...

Ahh you're cottoning on!

Sheffield City Blades (amalgamated with Wednesday playing in blue and white at a new stadium, Mandaric wants out, McCabe wants out). A better conspiracy theory than 'did they really go to the moon or studio 324 at Pinewood?';)

A fan on Football Heaven mentioned this point and suggested we were going to be renamed "The Tom, Dick and Harry Stadium". Are there three investors then?

It's a 50% stake investment for christ sake, not a full blown takeover. There'll be no kit colour change or name change of the club. Bramall Lane may become the al Nusra Front Stadium (other Middle East political groups are available) or similar but it would only be part of circumnavigating the Football League salary cap or whatever it is.

Come on now, go to bed everyone. It's been a giddy day. I'll be turning the light out in 5 minutes.....

Change the name to simply "United", could fool half of the world into thinking we're Man U.

:D here on the other side of the world it's already Sunday, the sun is shining and I'm contemplating going to the beach...

I wouldn't like the ground to be renamed but considering its a way round the financial fair play thing, I think I'd take it! I wouldn't be so keen on renaming the team or changing our colours though!

I'd rather be skint than name the ground after a sponsor.

One way around this is for the sponsor to name itself "Bramall Lane" then everybody wins!
