An excellent performance considering it was our third game in a week unchanged. We had a few flashes of some top draw football in the first half. Hull came to do what we all expected, make it as shite as possible! I thought we looked tiredish but our heart and desire kept us going. Overall, we got what we deserved, Deano makes a good save and we go down the over end and convert the penalty. Will take that all day long.

Stevens was fantastic today, my MOTM. Just shows how good a bloke Billy is too letting McG keep the pens until he misses one, no egos there.

Henderson fantastic as usual.

A ground out result after a quick start and tiring (unsurprisingly) but on balance, deserved it.

Johnson and Clarke both looked lively when they came on. Couple of weeks now to admire the table and get some rest, and I'm hoping NI go easy on Norwood and rest him for one of the games.

Hardly a classic, bit a good strong win. Top of the league ma.

Personally I thought we looked tired which was leading to us making far too many poor passes.

I agree. Wilder will get praise for keeping it unchanged, but I think we tired after about half an hour and were sluggish thereafter. We’re indebted to Henderson, a big call from the ref, and some grit while running on fumes for those 3 points. We might, with some freshness from 2 or 3 changes, have made easier work of that today. But ultimately, it doesn’t matter – I’m splitting hairs over a hypothetical easier 3 points compared against the very real reality of an actual 3 points.

That was a battling, hard fought but valuable 3 pts. It wasnt vintage utd for most part at times a bit flat bit stagnant. but im not complaining, because i knew that this was to be expected, because with 3 tight competitive games in 7 days was going to be tough physically & you cant expect the same performance levels in all 3. But great abilty to grind out when not your day. Made harder by the fact that visibly Hull & Adkins came for a point, defending in numbers & try to nick it from set piece. Like wilder said in recent interviews that some teams have come to the lane with no intentions of wanting to win.

But today was a very valuable 3 points because i havent seen us grind out a tight win like that for a while with an absoulte cert of a penalty. As ive Seen the replay & no doubt he got dragged down like we saw so often at the world cup & you could see from elphick reaction he just walked to edge of the area. So he knew what he'd done

Today showed how bad adkins was. he left us in worst league position for 40yrs & wilder for 2nd consective year topped the championship.
