Wrap up warm, travelling Blades - weather forecast looks chilly Tuesday night.

Primary objective:

We MUST get at least a point from this game in hand. Keep the points ticking over away from home whether it be 1 or 3 pts.

Compact the midfield, Ndiaye gets the thankless task of playing up top on his own.

Probably not as gung-ho as many people might like but it should still give us individual quality to win the game if a chance drops while respecting being away from home.... and yes Berge is dropped.

Very similar thoughts to me.

Same shape, but I'd switch Ndiaye out for McBurnie to make sure the ball sticks. Also, Ndiaye is out of form and looks like he could use the rest. He's also the better player at changing a game from the bench.

I'd swap Coulibaly for Fleck. I just haven't seen enough from Coulibaly to be convinced.

Another option, play Bogle right midfield. It's something I'd be intrigued to see.
Maybe not from the start but it could help us later on in games.

Good shout, 5-4-1 would be the ideal way to get both Bladock and Bogle on the pitch at the same time.

Can't believe I'm suggesting this but I wonder if we are best served not starting Berge or Ndiaye and having them as impact subs who could genuinely make an impact.

Otherwise their powers seem to be waning at the wrong moment.

Perhaps play 3-5-1-1 but with a midfield three of Doyle, Norwood and Fleck and McAtee just off McBurnie.

Since we sent Khadra back, we don't really have much of an alternative to Ndiaye. We may still need Sharp in the XVIII but I'd also like Jebbo in there.

Bit harsh on Lowe to drop out entirely, but needs must:

Foderingham
Basham Egan Robinson
Baldock Doyle Norwood Fleck Osborn
McAtee
McBurnie

Subs: Davies, Clark, Bogle, Berge, Ndiaye, Sharp, Jebbison

I'm not suggesting that is the best line up always with these players but for this match, with current form and energy levels I'd be happy to go with it, hopefully dominate the ball in midfield

Another 1-0 defeat incoming. We just look so devoid of ideas on the final third, and need about 15 chances to score 1.
They’ll shithouse and time waste their way to a 1-0 win.

I thought about that myself.
My only concern would be, McAtee wouldn't add much in the way of an extra body in midfield. He'd end up playing the Ndiaye role further up and then you're back to square one with the same shape.
Maybe I'm wrong, we haven't really seen McAtee play centrally yet and maybe that's where he prefers to play.

This is a decent starting 11. Bring on Ndiaye and Jebbo on the 60 mark. Bogle on for Baldock around 70 mins as he's still gaining match fitness. Give Berge 10 towards the end.

McBurnie has to stop on to help combat Caroll. Tonight will mostly be about picking up the 2nd ball that Caroll will win 90% of the time.

Do not over commit tonight United. Approach this game in the same way as we approached the Spuds game.

Hoping for clean sheet and a 0-1 Blades victory. (McBurnie)

The pessimist in me thinks we may struggle to pick up 3 points here, delighted to be proved wrong.

One or three scoops of humble pie for me please, Hecky & Co.

PS: Why does this potential Nigerian Billionaire takeover fill me with dread?!?

watch out for the Nigerian gentleman claiming he's lost his wallet and asking you to lend him the money for a ticket.

Boro put several past these. If we dont win this may as well give up now.
Thats not being negative, or over confident. Its reality.

I'm not sure McBurnie manages two 90 minutes in a row.

I suspect we'll change it up tonight and I've changed my mind on the team since yesterday.

I'm going for.

-----------------------------Wes
------Baldock--Basham----Egan---Clark----Osborn
----------------Berge-----Norwood----Doyle
----------------------Jebbo-------Ndiaye

Subs: Davies, Robbo, Bogle, Fleck, McAtee, McBurnie, Sharp

It's not reality. Reading have one of the best home record in the league. They have one of the worst away records.
