I ain't seen it so cannot comment, a few on here the other day said it was and some said it wasn't , easy this refereeing lark, even after seeing it on tv

Exactly. His trailing leg took out Billy. Would have been given a foul anywhere on the pitch. Saying that, I thought the tackle on Ched was even more of a foul.

Just watched the highlights and to be fair that's a very soft penalty. The one on Evans looked worse but the angle made it hard to tell.

The Ched one was a stonewall penalty. It’s a joke that it wasn’t given regardless of the fact we had one a couple of minutes earlier.

Said the same when he took it. Personally thought it was a poor penalty (which is an odd thing to say given it went it) but a better keeper saves that.

But it doesn't matter this time it went in and we're into the draw.

Reminds me of David Seaman in a penalty shoot out, waited till the ball was hit so he knew where it was going but if they are reasonably well hit you aren't getting to them. He dived the right way every time and stopped none of them.

I was about 8 rows back on the Kop and right in front of the penalty. For me it was nailed on because he came through Billy to play the ball. Never a penalty 20 years ago but in the modern game most likely to be given.

watched it on BT score , all 4 commentators said it was a penalty and they had a ref on and he said it ws a definite penalty , he didnt need to bring him down .

Saw it on bbc highlights looked a penalty all day long to me , as a ref for 9 years

After looking at the replay I agree, stonewall. The disappointing thing for me is the linesman had a perfect view and should have signalled it to the ref who was looking at him for a reaction. Totally copped out.
