Agree, the second one was a shocker but I don’t think he’s primarily to blame for the others. He’s a bit inconsistent but young players tend to be and he’s made some good saves. Undoubtedly there’s room for improvement but some of the criticism is unjust imo and if he’s getting personal abuse, it’s out of order.I'm going to stick up for Rammers a bit (being part of the goalkeepers union). With regards to the Chelsea game, I think he was only at fault for the 2nd goal. Knowing him, he'll know and it would have been in his mind as soon as it hit the net that he should have come for it. I think the few games preceding this, he's been fine, and this has been acknowledged on this forum by the majority.
It was always going to be a tough task for him following Hendo, who is probably not far off being world class. If anything, he just needs to work on that "first step" when he's about to dive - he either goes the other way or doesn't always get that "spring" when he takes off on the weight bearing foot.
Well yeah - he's not part of the England setup for "being shit". But of course, your average 25-50 year old armchair supporters, some who've probably never kicked a ball, know betterAgree, the second one was a shocker but I don’t think he’s primarily to blame for the others. Luckily the words of a thicko don't matter a jot to me.Trying to recall if I have seen a more stupid, unenlightened and ignorant post this year.
Nope, I don't think I have,
Takes one to know one I guessLuckily the words of a thicko don't matter a jot to me.
I'll tell my dad.Takes one to know one I guess
The manner of second goal, IMHO, led directly to the manner of the third which was definitely the result of some frazzled thinking on Ramsdale's part. He was never going to get to the cross ahead of Silva but he'd probably been told to be more assertive under crosses.I'm going to stick up for Rammers a bit (being part of the goalkeepers union). He do best goalie in England. It's a tough one. Any personal insults aimed at him are pathetic and should be called out. On the other hand it's top level football and he will receive criticism. Think how the players of Man Utd or Spurs have felt over the last few seasons. Not only their own fans hammering them but journalists, pundits and neutrals from all over the globe. It's part and parcel of the modern game and you have to be mentally strong to compete at this level.
I think the criticism of Ramsdale this season has has been hugely unjust and he's an easy target following on from the best goalkeeper in England but he has to accept this is going to happen when things are tough. Look at Pickford. Everyone in England is taking the piss out of him and Everton fans want him gone. It's not just Ramsdale this happens too and unfortunately he has to overcome it if he wants a career at the very top.
Hendo. He do best goalie in England.![]()
Are you Steve Conroy? You do know there is a difference between criticism and abuse don't you?
I can accept some constructive criticism backed up with some sound reasoning, but not plain unadulterated abuse.
I refer you to the sporadic hate campaigns against Billy Sharp byvtwats talking about his dead son.Criticism and abuse are different things. 'You've got to be able to take it' is a very 1900's type of comment too IMO.
Alan Hansen giving you a grilling on MOTD is ok, but sometime directly abusing you when you're already down in the dumps is out of order.
Where do we draw the line too, should black players not be allowed to complain about racism because they've chosen to be on social media and 'they have to deal with it'?
Social media has given a platform to all sorts of dolls heads, none of which these people would say to you in a boozer, to say whatever the fuck they like to people with no consequences. The authorities of these platforms must do more.
John Hope was the same when we took a penalty
One of the pluses of this season worked on his weaknesses and come good we will be lucky to hold on to him
Third relegation in a row? I’d be happy with a profit on him to be honest. He has improved but I think we can replace him for less money.Burnley 'could move for Aaron Ramsdale' if £45m-rated England keeper Nick Pope is sold this summer with the Sheffield United stopper available for around £22m after their relegation from Premier League

Burnley 'could move for Aaron Ramsdale' if Nick Pope is sold
Pope is expected to attract plenty of interest with the Clarets valuing the 29-year-old at around £45million. And if Pope does leave, then Sheffield United stopper Ramsdale could replace himwww.dailymail.co.uk
