We talk about who was financially our worst buy a lot, but considering he was decent (but not great) for us, is getting £24m plus add-ons for him our best ever sale? I can't think of one better off the top of my head.
Is he was foreign we'd have got about £5m for him.

He's not.
He was in Euros squad, I'd consider that part of the England setup. Whether he will be anymore is a different story.
Johnstone is never better than Ramsdale imo, not sure Pope is either.
Johnstone probably isn't, but Pope certainly is imo. Newcastle always look better when Pope plays, couldn't say same about Ramsdale and Arsenal.

Is there a sell on loss ?
If a club insisted on a sell on clause when we bought a player I'd insist on a sell on loss as well, either that or pay upfront you twats

Won’t start a new thread for this issue that irritates the feck out of me.

Sell on Clauses!

Should be banned imo. It’s tantamount to third party influence when they’re getting up to 50% and guaranteed buy backs.

Sell the player or buy the player no edging your bets. Either invest in the player and his future or set him free to presume his career without pre determined conditions.

Players getting savvy and running contracts down so they can do what they want and get big upfront fees.

Just stop the practice, it encourages corruption.

Rant over

I don’t disagree but the sell on clause is the sweetener is the sale Kyle Walker’s benefited us when he went from Spurs to Man City when spurs originally bought the 2 Kyle’s they got an extremely good price because we were skint so the sell on clause redressed the balance.

Does he hold the record for prem relegations? Bournemouth, Blades & Southampton?

Sell on clauses are of huge benefit to the clubs at the bottom of the supply chain, who often have no ability to keep a player.
