First going at this rate its almost certainly going to end up being £30m - which by my maths makes his the 6th most expensive GK of all time?

We had a player who was frankly garbage for half his time here, then improved dramatically. There were still a few legitimate question marks over him (albeit which he's since answered!)

Depending on what you believe we'd bought him for somewhere between 12-18m just 12 months earlier to a team in a similar position. So made a profit on a player who was shite for 50% of his time with us.

We had a player who, whilst not submitting a transfer request wanted to leave.

We were a Championship club who needed to sell to help balance the books.

Even with the benefit of hindsight, its a proportionate / good / fair deal for both clubs and the player.

Ramsdale’s improvement has been incredible. He could barely get off the ground when he dived for much of his time with us and his handling was suspect too. He did improve during the latter part of his time with us and that has continued at Arsenal.

As for whether we got a decent fee, it depends on the details of the add-ons.

The ball isn't in the corner of the net. If it goes in you're questioning the keeper. It looks spectacular because of the desperation and clawing it onto the bar, but I do think the fanfare is over the top.

Henderson is the better keeper but Ramsdale's career path is the better of the two. Hendo's big wish of being #1 at Man Utd has left him on the sidelines while Ramsdale is getting better by playing games at the top level. Henderson should have left Man Utd and been a #1 keeper elsewhere, if good enough Man Utd would have bought him back.

I guarantee there's no questioning of the keeper if that goes in. He's only 20 yards out and he's got it over the wall with power... and yeah it's not in the corner, but it's only a yard or so away from it.
