Racing Post prediction

So the RP experts have us to finish 20th along with bha and nufc in the bottom three. Their main reasoning is a lack of a top level striker, which is fair comment. However, last season’s suggested RP bet was a top half finish, which was hardly groundbreaking. Anyway their pullout is worth a read, still think Norwich look weaker than us on paper.

I think everyone's going to predict us for bottom 3 tbh:

• newly promoted team
• finished 2nd rather than 1st
• haven't signed any names, and didn't have many to begin with
• British manager in a tracksuit who will probably try and Warnock/Pulisball the Premier League (lol)

In fact if there's anyone out there apart from fellow Blades predicting us to stay up, I'd like to see it - interested in their reasoning.

If we do go on to sign McBurnie I wonder how many will change their minds. Because at the minute the only reason why Norwich aren’t being predicted to go down is Pukki. If we add McBurnie for me we have a far better team

The Racing Post pull-out is always worth a read. I'll be picking one up today. I've a mate who works there and he warned me I wouldn't like the Premier League prediction. But as Beans said, it doesn't surprise me that even the keen football observers will predict us to go down. There are too many uncertainties to have confidence in our team, I reckon.

Re: their prediction last season of us finishing in the top half. If you cast your minds back, I reckon the average expectation was around mid-table. No one reckoned we'd recruited particularly well, missing out on Waghorn and settling for that trialist Dave McGoldrick while Brentford fans crowed about how happy they were to get us to stump up £4-ish million for John Egan. So while calling for us to finish in the top half wasn't exactly radical, it wasn't the sure thing it may seem today.
