Quick thoughts from the game

No not joking, think he's an awful so called striker. No pace, poor appreciation of what is happening around him and gets caught in possession far too easily.

I think that more than half the time ched looks aimless and like he's not sure where he should be. He runs away from balls aimed at him. He fails to see people closing him down (he spawned an inadvertent through ball in one such situation). He is crap at holding up or winning headers. (the much maligned porter does both far better) ....

However, I think he'll score us some goals. I'm glad he's back. But the messiah he is not. he's still criminally overpaid for what he is.

I feel like I've had a rant there. I don't mean to. I love my blades and he contributed well today. I'm not going to get carried away until he bags a trick against the swine next month.

Yes went today and probably being harsh on Chedwyn today, but just don't like that type of striker. To me he's not an on the ball footballer, not sharp upstairs, lethargic in thought and movement.

Yet he puts a quality a pin point pass over to Quinn from our half on the turn, he played a few of these balls last season too some made others didn't, it's not just the player who has to think, others have to also think what he can do. I do think your being very harsh on him, but its up to Ched to prove you wrong now I suppose.

Good result but come away a little bit deflated (!!) in that we should have had around 8, easily. Colchester defended like a pub team, especially first half so it's difficult to put the game into context.

Suppose you can only beat whats put in front of you......

>Simmo had nowt to do
well i 'was' 5 minutes late, missed the first goal:) must have been a hectic first five minutes:D most of colchester's efforts were tame affairs and only needed collecting.. i remember one good save actually when they were through on goal but that was down to a howler by doyle:~ perhaps i should explain the marking scheme
4 stinker
5 poor
6 average (not bad.. did everything expected but not particularly outstanding)
7 good
8 excellent
9 blinder
10 off the planet.. plus you have to take the opposition into account and seeing as we weren't playing barca then a good solid six is a good mark in my book.. i'm not one of these band waggon types who is getting on simmos back btw, i thought the ironic cheering was out of order and won't do his play any good.. i've been quinns biggest critic at times but he was all over the pitch and scored a goal so he gets a seven.. doyle was shite as usual, i made a point of watching him throughout the game and he is like monty but doesn't tackle... and simmo is foreign sampy.. he's a geordie isnt' he? :D (i meant he has a foreign style but it didn't come out right)
this criticism of ched is a bit mind boggling .. they were terrified of him

You have got to be joking. Ched was excellent - sharp, powerful & positive. Reacted quickest for his goal, set up Quinn with an inch perfect pass, hit the bar with a header & looked a threat all game.
