when asked if he will get the money he stated that’s a question I will ask when the deal is done.
So he doesn’t know!!!! Hopefully he does because otherwise I hope this doesn’t cause more problems.

He should get it but we know McCabe and previous transfers out

Where’s the button for “You must be fucking joking”?

The Star says:
Asked if he will receive the money to strengthen his squad, Wilder added: "That's a conversation we'll have when the deal is done."

To me, that's wilder telling the reporter that he won't say anything until the transfer is definitely going ahead, not that he still needs to discuss it with the board.

So, we're speaking to Chris Wilder:

'So Chris, David Brooks is leaving'
'He's down there having a medical and finalising personal terms'
'the fee has been agreed, will you be able to spend any of that on new players?'
'Aye, I'm reight chuffed I've been told I can spend the lot.'

Two weeks later

'I understand Chris, that 3 of your possible transfer targets have failed to be agreed'
'Aye, we had it all sorted, but then for some reason two weeks ago they came back and demanded more for the transfer. Don't know what happened there.'
'So having agreed fees, they all suddenly increased?'
'Aye, strange that. After I spoke to you about the Brooks transfer, a couple of hours later we started getting phone calls demanding increased fees.'

Cynic

And that's why it will no doubt be undisclosed. Common sense post.

Or even quicker:

'So Chris, David Brooks is leaving'
'He's down there having a medical and finalising personal terms'
'the fee has been agreed, will you be able to spend any of that on new players?'
'Aye, I'm reight chuffed with the fee we're getting for him - I sanctioned the deal because, frankly, I believe that Bournemouth have overpaid for a relatively unproven player.'

Two days later:
'I understand Chris, that Bournemouth withdrew their offer and came back with a revised lower fee'
'Aye, strange that.'

...or forget what the hell you were talking about and just ramble inanely wagging a finger. :)

Yep, I tend to do that increasingly, at times it's a bastard but what can you do? Most important though, that what you say still has that ring of truth, with none of the foolishness of youthful arrogance to muddy the waters.

My source who told me this deal was happening back early June said wilder will get most of the funds to re invest.

He was right about brooks going and the club and the rumoured amount so here’s hoping

Or will it be used to set up "Copthorne Cabs", seems to have worked over at the sty...........Oh hang on......

Over the last ten years or so we’ve lost money every season. Every season our owners have had to put money in to keep us solvent. All the money we’ve received from transfers has gone towards the running costs of the club; transfer fees and wages. That’s not going to change. It won’t change for as long as we’re in the championship.

The money we receive for Brooks will go towards the transfer fees of the new players and their wages, and towards the wage bill of the other players, so we don’t have to sell anyone else.

I keep reading that Villa’s losses, and the pigs’ losses aren’t sustainable. The reality is that almost every club in the championship is running at a loss, including ours. The ‘lucky’ clubs get frequent changes of owners, each with more money than sense who each lose a fortune trying to get promoted until they lose heart and slink away with their tales between their legs. There aren’t many happy sets of supporters in the championship. Too many clubs weighed down by expectation, with supporters who really believe their club has a divine right to dine at the top table.

But McCabe has made fortunes, stolen the ground, the hotel, Shirecliffe the City and Town Halls and the Embassy Club, All of which belong to the fans.

I thought the Embassy Club belonged to Bernard Manning?
