To any prospective investors,

If you're coming in and spending money, respect our traditions.
  1. Wilder and Knill are our management team.
  2. Billy is our leader.
  3. Bash personifies the commitment we ask for.
  4. Hendo personifies the calibre we want you to buy.
  5. Bramall Lane is our home.
  6. Red and White Stripes is our kit.
  7. The crossed Blades is our logo.
Respect this, spend money according to these traditions. Or else fuck off.

Number 6. is only being half respected at the moment.

Surely by now all these foreign investors in English football clubs must realise that they are merely custodians of historic institutions.? Not really true owners.

I’m genuinely intrigued by the notion that foreign owners wanting a profit is a problem?

In order to make a profit the owner firstly needs to invest and the sustain a certain level of success (Premier league football) in order to gain any kind of profit.

Languishing in the Championship (or lower) will not generate a profit.

Football is a business run by business men. Good business men succeed and bad ones get found out.

The idea that foreign owners equals bad would suggest that a British club owner is good, yet the list of British born scum bag football club owners throughout the history of British football is eye watering.

Let me get this straight.

We want the Prince gone and KM to reign supreme because, well, effectively, there’s no bigger Blade than him.

We then want to put our trust in the very same man to go and find us a “foreign investor”. The man who is currently in a High Court battle with the very “foreign investor” he found previously.

I’ll have to laugh or I might cry.

Our kev will be off like a shot if he gets anything like the money he has put in back. Just the same as any of us would. We should thank him for giving us a ground to be proud of and finally stumbling on Chris. No point going over the bad decisions and the millions of shares we bought.Water under the bridge, Time to move on and pray that we get lucky.

It's quite simple really, we need and want an owner who is mega rich, but loves the club and is a die hard Blade and will invest accordingly, who doesn't bring the turmoil that Princey allegedly has but isn't as hapless and inept as McWobblegob is.

Should be easy to find.

And then, when the new foreign investor found by McCabe has got us in to the Premier League, we want him to find us a new foreign investor who can get us in the top 6, then that new foreign investor wil have to find us a new foreign investor who can win the Champions League, then that foreign investor will, in turn, have to find another foreign investor who can win the FIFA World Club Championship. Unless I'm misunderstanding. Meanwhile ..... it's Wigan away tomorrow

What planet you on ? Why would they sack wilder

Birmingham sacked Rowett to get Zola.

Both your examples of Wolves and DirtyLeeds sacked managers to put their own men in. Wolves did such a good job that they then had to then sack their man and get Lambert in to keep them up. Once he'd done that, they sacked him for another sexy foreigner.

These owners are foreign and advised by foreigners . An 'old school ' Brit is irrelevant to them.

Still, let's give it a try eh?

A lot of time in court that, potentially.

I knew I shouldn't Ave sed owt, ah well happy new year

Agree with most of that.
There are so many mixed messages and contradictions regards what type of Chairman we would like.
Apparently he needs to be mega rich thatgambles/ invests loads of money. Apparently he also needs to love the club.

To be honest unfortunately most of our fanbase will judge our Chairman purely on finishing position.

We could acquire a mega rich Chairman, who decides to build a new Kop, buys top rated players, communicates with the fans but if we finish bottom half then that Chairman would be deemed as crap. Conversely we could have Adolf Hitler as Chairman who has no love for the club and admits he’s only invested for profit. If we achieve promotion then he’s classed as a good Chairman.

An example was SWFC, a could hear alarm bells immediately with Chansiri changing their kit, changing their badge, putting up prices everywhere and plastering his name and picture all over their stadium. These actions would be worrying but just because SW were involved in the play-offs 2 seasons running then he was considered an excellent Chairman by most of their fanbase.

Imagine if there were 23 great Chairman in the Championship who all invest wisely based on budgets, all love their club treating fans with total respect. The problem is most fans won’t see this.......only 3 teams can ever attain promotion and 3 clubs must be relegated.

Personally I disagree but there’s seems to be a simple equation
....the 3 promoted clubs = have great Chairmen...the 3 relegated clubs = have terrible/ incompetent Chairmen.

You can bet if a club like Coventry City gained promotion to the PL then the protests would stop and all of a sudden SISU would become great owners.

This would and could be different though, could it not?

Is Wilder an old school Brit?

Or a British manager, bang in form, proven in working on a budget, several recent promotions under his belt, adored locally and increasingly revered by some prominent names in the game, that foreign advisors will have heard of e.g. Bielsa.

I really couldn't care less where the owner is from or where the manager is from if chris wlder was french would it be that different ? If billy sharp was from leeds would it , honestlyy who's bothered

The Bournemouth model is by far the best. Mental rich oligarch lad who keeps his nose out and sticks with English gaffer

The fella is so inconspicuous that every one refers to them as little old bournemouth they pull under 12k per week due to the fact they’re Stadium is as big as Woodburn Road. They broke FFP to go up and everyone just went ahhhh little old Bournmouth and they’ve spent a fortune since to maintain their league status and again everyone goes that Howe is a decent gaffer getting those player to perform isn’t he.

That’s what we want, everything to seem as is whilst some mad bloke just rocks up once a month with plenty of suitcases full of cash.. then disappears again

WisewBlade89 I know that question wasn't aimed at me. But, as it happens, I don't hate foreigners. Managers, players, punters. But, I am a bit wary of foreign investment & where that money has come from. Every Blade has a line in the sand as to how any foreign investment money has been generated. Just that we'll all draw the line in a different place.

I dont see your point ?

Quel surprise!

(That's 'foreign' btw).

Of course I don't hate foreigners for the sake of it. I want someone who understands my club and English football.
I think this is more likely to happen with someone who's played the game here. That probably means a Brit but not necessarily .

If Billy was born in DirtyLeeds he'd still be adored but not loved. The Bladey man and bit thing is rarity these days, as with Wilder.

I'll turn it back at you. You seem more than happy with an unknown foreign coach being parachuted in, as long as it's by a new owner with loadsamoney.

No I don’t really care who the owner is or manager aslong as there what’s best for the team/club
In an ideal works McCabe would be able to spend some money but he doesn’t.
And yeah if wasn’t for wilder we’d be mid table in league one so yeah I would like the owner to spend a bit of money as this one has and will never have enough money for us to not have a budget the size of Preston/Rotherham

he put's in millions each season but it's not enough for some.

That’s not the point I couldn’t care less about how much money McCabe has lost , he doesn’t have enough money for us to even be a decent championship team in terms of budget. We are where we are because Chris wilder is a managerial budget.
Kevin McCabe has not spent a penny since promotion last years signings were financed by Walker and Maguire sell one and this year brooks.
If it means a foreign owner coming in then so be it , cause if McCabe stays the club will be damaged a lot more than if someone else comes in.

Please give it a rest with your facts. It spoils the vibe......

Yeah he sort of runs a football club that’s the bare minimum that he should be doing.

The signings have been funded by selling players or sell ons in the last 2 years
Kevin McCabe can not afford to a club trying to gain promotion to the premier league.
I don’t know how you can even argue against this point we’ve had probably our worst 5 years in our history in league one and cause he hit the jackpot appointing wilder we can just forget that he’s quite an inept owner

We have a 50% foreign owner. He told a Judge we didn’t need anymore money this season.

What’s a managerial budget when it’s at home ?

he doesn’t have enough money for us to even be a decent championship team in terms of budget.

With a decent budget we could be as big a club as Sunderland, look at the money they have spent lost

Used to be a time when people followed a local club because it was exactly that.

Now some can only follow a club that spends more millions than other clubs. I thought it was the preserve of the deluded in the Rust Bucket but it appears to be wider spread.

That's why Billy Sharp is seen as 'average' by some because we did not spend £ 10 million to buy him.

#crazyfuckedupworld.
