A few weeks ago I was told that Mcabe had had serious talks with a contact in China about atakeover.
This was given to me by a pal who had been told this from an old gentleman who has contacts at the lane, I also know this gentleman, I saw him before the Blackburn game and quized him about it, he wouldn't go into detail but said unless something major happens to ruin it it will be happening , he doesn't know if is it to buy out Mcabe but possibly so, but definitely the Prince, he/they also has "a wall of money" to invest.

I know the link with China is an old and obvious one but because I know this fella and his contacts I found it interesting and I believe him, with your contacts at the Lane Danny I wondered if you had heard anything similar,or for that matter Foxy or anybody else.

I am not in the know and like everyone else we hear stuff which I dont bother with but on this occasion I thought I would share it and ask you as I feel there maybe something in it?

Ironically it's the year of the pig pretty soon so there could be some truth in it. It would certainly ruffle a few rashers over in S6 with their financial situation

In the main, foreign Investors want to buy profile. They need managers, coaches & players who have a name status, a football celebrity status, an existing CV. To paraphrase, they need a manager & players who are household names in Shanghai. That's why Lampard, Gerrard, Terry & even Campbell would be preferable to a Beijing no mark like Wilder. ditto Riyadh. Make no mistake, foreign investment will not mean - more money for the existing manager - it's on the road to a new manager.

That lot on other side of city hired nobodies, wba got a fancy take over but seemingly they didn't have much cash. Likewise with Reading. Just because some fella from the far east comes in doesn't mean success or glamour!

The Chinese money rumour has been lurking around for about ten years now. Haven't the Chinese cracked down on money leaving their country now and thats why Villa were missing tax payments in the summer?

Not by the looks of all the high rise going up around Bramall Lane.

Though I have heard that they are selling their stadium to crawl around FFP/PS rules and generate some funds for the new truffle snorter.

Will the stadium bucket be renamed Last Chancer Saloon ?

So, Sheffield, the home of both, the oldest club and oldest professional ground, also the place football began isn't going to be of interest, because the Chinese aren't interested in any form of history, oh, and the fact we play in Red, which is their lucky colour, wouldn't be of any interest to a Chinese investor then, because our gaffer is called Chris Wilder and not Frank Lampard???

Got it in one! Have a Gold Star.

Most foreign investors are not involved in English football because they think they can make money out of it.
They're in it to show off. So, that they can go to parties/business meetings & say - have you heard the latest, I've only gone & bought a football club.
Oh great, who is the manager, have you got him from Serie A or La Liga?
No, it's a bloke who has managed at Northampton.
Whaaaaat?
Don't worry, I've put that Jim Phipps in charge of football affairs.

The people at man city see the club as one of many long term investments, they are expecting to get back the billions theyve put in

The glazers make massive profits out of their leveraged deal to buy man utd where they never even put any money in

Fsg who took over Liverpool certainly aren't doing it for prestige, their are some huge possibility with t.v deals in the future and the oil money is drying up
Don't be fooled into thinking these people are in it to show off to their rich mates ,that's dangerous they are in it for profit

The ways of the world are indeed strange, Grass hopper.....

I get that point, but they were buying Manchester United, Liverpool & Manchester City. The sort of buyers you quote will not buy Sheffield United. We're still at the level of - ooohhh a new Chinese Restaurant has opened near the ground, surely they'll buy us. We are at best an ego project train set toy

It’s always a bit of a danger getting foreign owners. But ultimately all they want is Premier League/Chanpions League football.

As a city I thought we’d got good links with China, high numbers of Chinese students and around Bramall Lane is becoming a China town or isn’t it ? They aren’t guaranteed to dismantle the club like Chancer has at S6.

It will have to happen eventually as McCabe wants to retire and his sons want nothing to do with it.

What about the Leicester guy ? He spent fortunes on the local community

Is that a great wall?

There's a few connections, which mean this wouldn't be that surprising to me:
South stand sponsorship deal with Hualing.
Bramall Lane being situated in the new China town area.
McCabe's various business dealings in China.
Sheffield's high population of Chinese students.
The ownership dispute in which McCabe seemingly wanted to buy out the Prince. Why when he seemed to want to divest or scale down his financial imput several years ago?

Yes, I get it. The top teams in the Premier League have all been bought by Foreign Owners. They were famous names with multi million turnovers when they were bought out. Known & "supported" worldwide thanks to EPL being all over foreign TV. And, there are also some great stories, like Leicester being bought by a Thai Billionaire, and being successful from there. Fine, I understand that some of our fans will see us/hope we are the next Leicester. Moi Aussi. But, there is also a vast catalogue of here today, gone tomorrow owners who think it'll be a piece of piss. Just put some Turkish fella & a Yank on the Board & it will all work out.

It’d be great if we could get new investment but it’s been rumoured before on numerous occasions so I’ll wait to see if it happens first before getting excited.
Here’s hoping though?. UTB.

Encouraged by a desire from president xi to have more Chinese involvement in European football a conglomerate called Fosun bought a championship club,Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2016 for around 45 million, hardly a top premier league club or from London, so......

Got that. But, Wolves then needed a profile, foreign manager, not ex-Northampton. Which was my original point.
