Quality needed

Unfair on Washington, who was excellent in midweek and almost won us a point at the end.

Sharp and McGoldrick were the ones who missed the big chances. Both played quite well but it's the same old story for us...excellent build up and just miss the chances at the crucial times.

Washington did well considering the playing time he had
Well, I wasn't at the game, I only saw it on Sky, so there was probably things I missed but from what I saw, he offered lots of huff n puff, hustle and bustle but little else.

Without that quality, we'll continue to tread water. Can't fault the lads today, they gave it everything but we are short on quality when it comes to trying to change things around.
Thought leeds were no better than us today .just so so fortunate even we would have won that game if we had the same chance.thought our quality or lack of it matched leeds quality or lack of it.talk about shooting yourself in the foot.

It's clear enough that the squad isn't promotion material.

Does anybody believe that will change until we have a new ownership?

As it is we have to keep relying on Wilder working wonders with an unspectacular bunch of players, as he has done so far in the championship.

I fear that if the squad stop over performing on a consistent basis, that Wilder will be blamed and sacked. After which, being around the top 6 will become a pipe dream.

On another day we win that game , Billy’s chance first half I think was the turning point in the game if we go 1-0 at a point when we we on top then maybe a different outcome .
Don’t like this singleing out of Washington the lad played very well midweek and was unlucky not to score at the end ,
Yeh we all know quality always improves a team but it costs money ,, something that’s not in abundance with two warring factions at the helm of the club .
We are punching above our weight a fact that some fail to acknowledge & I don’t think there’s gonna be chest of cash for waiting CW in January so it is what is .
I don’t think & have never thought we have the depth to challenge for a top two position personally but I think we will be in or around the play off spots
Let’s get behind the lads and see where it takes us

Both teams looked average today. We were ok - and deserved a draw - but lack quality.

It’s really frustrating because had we brought in a bit more quality I would really fancy our chances this season. We are relying on players playing out of their skins every week and as we saw last season that is virtually impossible over the course of a season.

A couple of quality signings in January could make all the difference - and hey, there’s no bigger Blade than Kev.

You could have wielded your post out for the Stoke, Forest, Wednesday, Rotherham and today's game. And that is the point. We just are not good enough. A lack of instinct, crossing early and finding a player. Frankly it's crap.

We need a good old-fashioned sh*t liner who will put the ball in the net every time (or at least MOST times) he gets a chance.

What's Keith Edwards doing these days?

only quality we can get is abroad but we probably don't have any scouts there so we go british only but quality costs money so therefore cheap/freebies from lower divisions

I didn’t think Leeds were owt special.

Maybe more organised but I was expecting more from Bielsa’s team.

End of the day, you can’t keep scoring nil at home and hope to prosper.

I thought Duffy was anonymous.

Sharp I thought average at best.

McGoldrick played well but he’s just not succeeding when key moments fall to him and that’s a problem.

From tee to green we’re decent but there isn’t enough attacking quality in the last third.

If you spent 15m in the last third this team would finish top two.

Our midfield never got into the game and we always struggle when the opposition stifle our midfield. We need quality in January but don’t see it happening as we don’t have the money. I see us finishing mid table. Hopefully top 10 but difficult to see us achieving that with our current players!!. UTB

If we're going to mount a serious challenge, we need to be bringing in better quality than the likes of Connor Washington and Marvin Johnson.

yes, quality is needed.

But if we as fans are really really honest with ourselves, we NEED more quality in the first 11 too.

If we discussed certain players who really need replacing then there would be meltdown on here - but it needs facing up to.

Initially, we need a centre forward who can do something different in close games (another one today), and as a prime example, i'll give you two from today.

McG blaze over the bar and Billy's header near to half time.

Game should have been over in the FIRST half, yet again. It's a recurring theme and it's not a criticism of our play or the players who play now, we just need extra quality to make the difference.

Thought Roofe today was magnificent for Leeds - ran about all day for their cause.

Hopefully that’s enough of the promotion talk. And before people say the season is far from over, do you not see the totally obvious parallels with last season? Absolutely pissed off by that again today, we didn’t play well but neither did Leeds, we didn’t need to lose that game but we play like cunts far too often for a team that can actually play some incredible stuff at times. Only we could look so good one week and turn to absolute shit the next. And when we simply play alright but not great we always fuck it up further.

Those sort of games have happened far too many times to be a coincidence. We aren't good enough for a proper play off challenge but top 10 is a realistic and acceptable achievement.

I said at the start of the season we’d finish 13th -15th and it looks like we will finish higher than that.

But It also looks like we don’t have the squad to mount a top six challenge over a full season.

If this was a normal club that should be another building step forward but being us it’s likely we will lose 2 or 3 key men in the summer and have to start again. Also the ownership farce will have gone to appeal by that stage so still in limbo on that front.

I thought both subs did well. That ball at the end by Johnson wasn't the best but considering deano was in their box and the angle it came at him made it more difficult.

I like that, "from tee to green we're decent" - it's just getting it in the hole that's the problem eh?

Sorry I don't buy that at all. It was a straightforward ball back into the mixer, and he didn't get close.
