Some people think adding a "y" on the end of someone's name is a bit matey, friendly, endearing etc.

It would be awkward with Duffyy, Husseyy, Laffertyy, Laveryy

Best example though is the Fast Show's Ron Manager on Ryan Giggs "Cor, Ryan Giggs, you know? Giggsy, isn't it? Mmm? Giggsy-wiggsy? Mmm? Oh! Ryan-y Giggsy-wiggsy. Isn't it? You know, marvellous." :D

Weve got Bill Sharp , weve got Bill Sharp.....................The thread starter is just Sill SILI sili and Billy Blade your just too sensible for your shirt .

It's not as ridiculous as adding an "O" as in Mooro (Bobby Moore), rugby great Jonno (Martin Johnson) and cycling great Wiggo (Bradley Wiggins).
