The team in 1990 “scraped” their way to 85 points and deservedly finished five points clear of Newcastle in 3rd.

I’m not sure why people can’t appreciate the brilliant current side without having to denigrate the achievements of our other few successful teams from the past.

Are we not allowed to be proud of both of them? It’s not like we haven’t had loads of awful teams in between.

Not denigrating it just pointing out how good this team is . It was a great achievement and they got there which is the aim. It's harder now though as we are at a much greater financial disadvantage. 85 points last season would have put us 4th.
We could get 90 points this season and finish 3rd. But this in my opinion is a great team to watch on a consistent basis
