Hi all,

I have a mate coming to the game tomorrow with his lad - he will be on the coach and arriving about 12 - looking for a decent pub / grub near the ground.

Any advice appreciated - thanks

UTB's

The Howard opposite the train station is the designated away fans pub. They do food in there too, AFAIK.

I walked past the howard last friday and it looked to be closed for refurbishment

There's always Wetherspoons on Ecclesall Road, surely away fans can get away with going in there.

Champs is a 10 minute walk just up from Wetherspoons on Ecclesall Road and has food and loads of TV screens for the man u v arsenal match etc, nice relaxed feel and mixture of family's , students and fans

Unfortunately next season you'll have to go to the shit end a town , when pigs get relegated .
Ticket prices are a fucking rip of as well .

Thank All, appreciated - let's hope we stuff em!

Devonshire Cat is away fan friendly & is always popular for food. The real ales aren't bad either.

Was always a bit pricey but stopped going in the Cat after I ordered 2 pints of not particularly strong ale and barely got a quid's change from a tenner. God knows what it'll be like post refurb

I got charged £6.50 for a pint in the Rutland a couple of weeks ago.

Ah, so it was you drinking that 10% IPA...

Don't mind paying for a decent pint, but over 4 quid for sub-5% ale is a bit ridiculous. Wouldn't expect to pay that in London even

Although I'm not a drinker, has anyone considered The Sentinel on Shoreham Street? As you walk past Radio Sheffield you'll find The Sentinel just after the next set of traffic lights. It's not a pub as such, but it sells (excuse the poncey terminology) artisan beers, coffee, and various food, so something for everyone. Seems popular with those who've discovered it.

10%??? No wonder the couple of glasses of wine I had on the train back home sent me loopy.

You'll be paying over £4 for an ale virtually everywhere in London apart from wetherspoons.

Away fans always receive a warm reception in the Cricketers just across from the away end, ditto Lord Nelson on t' back wacks. If you do go in either of those make sure you mention what a fine player Forestieri is, Blades fans love banter, especially in Cricks and Nelson.

Yep been in, nice beer, not cheap, nice food as well, you can pick up a free loyalty card and get 10% off everything

I concur. Cracking beer.

So I've been told. I live opposite The Sentinel and can be found in there during the week, usually for a meeting. Nice, laid-back vibe and just a tad different from the usual watering-hole.

You're a...............Student???????
