To be honest I would take how we played and only drew tonight against countless wins under Warnock Blackwell Clough or Adkins where the football was utter shit.
How we won back the ball, recycled the ball, kept pressure, controlled the game, spread the play, played with an assurance yet still with steel when required to defend makes me proud
Actually I'm not bothered about getting to the Premier. I don't want a Pullis/Allaydce/Bruceetc/etc type of team that bores their way their and then hangs on.
My low in football was when Sean o Driscoll's doncaster out footballed us
I'm with Wilder - do it the proper way - if tonight it hasn't got us three points I will take that.
There was only one winner in tonights nil nil Lol

That is brilliantly put..

Having slept on it I'm still a bit disappointed with the result but what a team we are building. If, and I know it's a big if with the owners, we can keep our better players and bring in a couple of bits of class at the top end of the pitch then the future will be bright.

Reading a bit of porktalk though, some of them still refuse to admit that we are a good side which is bizarre

Is it bizarre though? Is it not why we often refer to them as The Deluded?

The frustration last night was immense. But in the cold light of day, it was just more evidence that we’re an exceptional team as a collective, playing to a method, but just lacking one or two “unplayable” footballers who can damage opponents in one-on-one situations.

Fulham bought Mitrovic to make the difference last year. No chance we can afford that, but is there a player out there for us in January?

Proud is exactly what I said to the missus. We played some lovely football. If we carry on playing like that we will win this league. We will destroy them in Pigland.

Last night I was disappointed and frustrated.

Today I'm just deflated.

They got their FIRST clean sheet of the season and we missed a penalty.

I'm sorry but whilst we may be good to watch there are no points for artistic impression so give me a scruffy 1-0 win anytime.

Aslong as we learn to score!!
We play sublime football, but we lack the killer instinct, a little bit of thought and a bit of spending in Jan, and we really are promotion contenders, we just need the goals now!!!

Hate to say it, but those sort of games, the sucker punch usually goes to the team who don't deserve it. Just imagine if that had happened?

I’ve been watching Sheffield derbies since 1991, and it seems we don’t do fortunate victories in these games. I’ve seen them produce goalkeeping heroics many times, and I‘ve seen us miss a parade of chances. But surely we’re due a time where we nick a goal and just survive?

The only time I’ve felt we’ve got out of jail was the Beattie freekick, but even then it was a scruffy even game.

that’s them though .. no class
i still maintain that if we’d been outplayed like that we’d be big enough to admit it

We might be able to relegate them when we go to the bucket of rust in March, can you imagine the pressure they would be under if that were possible.

Been watching the Blades for 50 years and I can honestly say thats the worst Wendy side I've seen .

I remember a game where we nicked 3 first half goals and only just managed to survive ;)

Deano at his peak would get 50 a season under Wilder, now who have Donny got up front these days?

Been it to work this morning, me the only blade n ten pigs, 2 of them came with the ahhhhhhh u couldn't beat us and wer shit rubbish but fair play to the others, positively fawning at our football wishing they played like that, one even said that wed are the pub team in sheffield now! Delivery driver from Leeds sayin we looked awesome apart from getting the ball in the box quicker, defo cheered me up a bit and made me proud to be a blade

The bigger picture says it’s ANOTHER 2 points dropped at home. It’s happened before and will no doubt happen again. Yes, we play great football, I think we are all aware of that now, but if teams are sitting back against us we can’t break them down and it doesn’t matter who it is.

Their keeper has probably made one save from open play tonight. The other two were a great penalty save and one from the free-kick right at the very end. The possession stats look great but it’s not hard to keep possession when the opposition aren’t interested in getting it back. We created absolutely nothing clear cut all night other than when we got in behind for the penalty.

We may be playing great football, yes, but we won’t be in the top 6 if we keep dropping points because this is an unforgiving league.

You only have to look at our last three meetings to see where our problem is, and it's still with breaking down heavily defensive teams.

At they Sty they had a much stronger squad and went for the win. This helped us attack and we finished our chances.

At BL they had just appointed a defensive manager and we were on the decline due to injuries. This led to a scrappy non-event derby that could've gone either way.

Last night they had a weaker squad and needed a result. The only option was to defend even heavier and hope like hell we don't score. We battered them but had no end product.

It's games like this where we struggle and usually get sucker-punched out of three points, but last night we never stopped.

I'm disappointed, but also proud of the performance and that we're still constantly improving in the areas we need to.
