Like others have said let's leave this til may, but if we do go up, I don't care if we're bottom at Christmas with no points we don't do what other teams do in that position and sack the manager. I want Wilder to be in charge of us next season and many seasons after that regardless of what division we're in.

Both had ageing key players like we do, Burnley in particular a very British workmanlike side, both not exactly loaded. Neither have done too badly have they?

If you've got a good manager and a talented group of players who give 110% every week you have a chance of staying up, 7th down in the Premier League are all much of a muchness and people writing us off IF we were to go up are in for a rude awakeing.

The last thing I'd want to do is go up and spend £80mil and rip this side up. And I'm serious. Clever investment is needed into the playing squad because this group is special.

I'm with the OP, forget the 100m for going up, it means nothing in the grand scheme of things.

We aren't ready to go up, evidenced by home draws to Birmingham and Wendy and a double defeat to an average Swansea team. Give Wilder a couple of years at this level to adapt and strengthen until we're in a position to mount a successful challenge and possibly compete with the likes of Bournemouth, Burnley, Watford and Brighton.

Let the better equipped sides like West Brom and Leeds go up and we can go up in a few seasons time when we're equally well equipped.

I think as a currently Hypothetical question about if we do go up, I personally think lots of changes would happen the two at the top might not end up who ultimately owns us as we would be a more attractive club to overseas investors (Not that I want it to go that way).

With Wilder, he has mastery and comprehension and a set of players willing to go beyond for him, and don't see how that would change in the course of promotion, give it time we could even be in a position to challenge the higher clubs, which is what we have done all this year in the championship, are we not some where near the bottom when it comes to expenditure and wages and the like and yet over perform and push on?

I think the last visit to the Premier League might very well have tainted perhaps the view of what the premier league is, I am sure if you asked Leeds, Sunderland, Portsmouth, Bolton, Norwich, and all the others that have over time dropped out of the top division where they would be I am sure they would all say the prem, the shop window and coverage, being able to see your team any time actually getting Column Inches in the daily rags, all of which is good for the Club and the city.

I work in Watford and Live near by in Hemel, over the last 4 - 5 years the redevelopments and cash poured into the town is astronomical, it as gone from a dirty run down town to a reasonable place for both entertainment and shopping with in a few places the team being a focal point, there are still bits that are shit and probably always will be, but businesses and people would not pump money into the area without a good reason to do so.

and look at Watford as a team still have Troy Deeney up top still have a few others who made the promotion leap and Watford are a team that does challenge and upset a few of the big boys not every week but still I am sure enough to make those fans proud and feel on Cloud nine for that fleeting moment which when you think about it is all football gives us, fleeting moments of pure illation, some moments of despair and treasured memories to pass down as we grow older, We will still have those in the Premiership and the rest of the world will know as well.

I personally as much as its scary territory would welcome seeing us back in the top flight, and as a bonus I would get to see the blades a lot more too!

I would have to disagree, the money now in Watford as only been since the team where promoted and its all in the lower half of the town on what would be the way to the football from Travelling supports and Home fans, before it was screaming out for redevelopment but got nothing, now its a complete turn around, I cant see that there is not any influence from having a premiership team?

Know Clarendon road well it unlike the centre as not had development that the town as, I work down near the UTC.

We deserved to beat Swansea at home, and should have gained a point away. A missed pen cost us against the Pigs. A draw against a well organised, hard working Brum side is the type of game all sides experience at some time in the season. We have strengthened since then, and I would argue that we are ready to go up well before a few seasons have elapsed.

So I’m suggesting a breakaway group for the sensible moderates, the nearly half empties and almost half full are also welcome to join the movement. What do ya say? It works in politics....doesn’t it?
