It is from our lofty position. To be honest it’s hard to give a fuck about teams losing home advantage.

Sorry Cerberus BladeIt is inevitable, totally I'd say. I'm referring to reverting back to a herd immunity strategy. Because there is no alternative. None. So you just have to let it loose and wipe out those it is going to wipe out in as controlled a way as possible, so that the health service can cope and still has resources to deal with other emergencies.
I've been posting on here for weeks about the vaccine and how some people have got that completely out of context. It isn't a cure, even if we had one. But we don't have one and won't have one for some time - and even when we do eventually have one, until we've given to 85% of more of the population it will convey no benefit - and even when we have eventually made enough of it to be able to give it to 85% of the population, it may only convey a very modest benefit.
Are we all doomed? Yes! But not because of the coronavirus necessarily - we are all doomed anyway - we are going to die of something - every single one of us. No point in making ourselves miserable about it. I think the best strategy is an "accordion" strategy. In, out, in, out. We're in lockdown now, let us out gently, but be prepared to go back in again if it starts getting some steam up, then let us out again, and back in again...that's how it's going to be unfortunately, until enough people have come into contact with it that is halts the transmission of it.

Agreed. See#9It’s not a case of clubs trying to gain an advantage, it’s purely down to what is viable. If it was possible, every club would maintain the home and away format.
The clubs against this plan are just looking out for their own interests and trying to force relegation being cancelled, it’s as simple as that.
Brighton appear to be the first club to have issues with playing remaining games at neutral venues. If more clubs are against it then that just puts back any potential restart date until agreement is reached. Would any dissenting clubs be forced to play at venues against their will if put to the vote?

There is no way to settle this without someone saying it’s unfair. Even if it were possible to postpone the end of the season until summer 2021 without clubs going bust, there’d still be people saying it’s unfair because ‘we would have had Glen Murray/Billy Sharp/Etc but now he’s too old’.It’s not a case of clubs trying to gain an advantage, it’s purely down to what is viable. Sorry Cerberus Blade
I'm sure that's a realistic & thought out post. And, I'm not happy with myself. These are strange times. But, all I could think as I was reading it was - why don't you volunteer to die then, so it'll all be easier for the rest of us. Nothing against you personally you understand. Just couldn't help myself. Apologies.
I hope they get told to f*** off. They're just trying to remove the threat of relegation. If they take relegation of the plate then they might as well not bother restarting as the bottom 6 will probably just give up and they'll be no sporting contest.
Every team is in the same boat and playing at home is not always an advantage. Some teams struggle under the preasure of the fans.
Of course there’s an alternative. There will be large numbers alive today that wouldn’t have been had we adopted a “wipe em out in as controlled a way as possible” at the start of this. And who far from having a guaranteed death sentence on them will still likely be alive if the right measures are taken in the coming months too. The very least that could be done is to shield vulnerable groups while removing restrictions on the less vulnerable.
There is an enormous difference between accepting that we are all going to die at some point, and accepting that as a reason to do nothing to try and delay people dying prematurely. We might as well abolish all means of healthcare if the latter is the way to go.
To be honest it’s hard to give a fuck about teams losing home advantage. It’s a completely subjective concept and the League was a complete freak show with the hamfisted application of VAR before all this happened anyway.

None of this shit is ‘fair’.
A possible compromise. No relegation this season but the bottom six start the next season with between 2 and 12 points deducted?
At least that would ensure that all 20 teams would continue to put maximum effort in and maintain the “integrity” of the competition that Brighton and West Ham are so keen to preserve.
I long to be able to moan about VAR decisions again.
Just want to get the feeling of the neutral ground decision. Reason for it I have been told is to stop fans going to the ground where the match is and congretating outside.
Is this actually a realistic arguement?
No pubs are open (ie near the ground or anywhere) you can not see the match at the ground and you can not hear the crowd to get the game reaction so why would you go to the ground when there is a very high chance through legal or other means you can watch the whole match with some tinnie's in the comfort of your own home ? Am I missing something why this is being proposed ?
Agreed, all we can do is try and get as close to fair as possible. You could argue the break has given Spurs an advantage as Kane and Son will now play more matches this season.
That’s not fair on us, but unless someone has a time machine and can stop the pandemic, everyone is going to need to compromise a bit.
That's not a bad compromise. But if they promote Leeds and have 22 team league (as was suggested in the press), then how many do Leeds start on?
Zero. Its not their fault Brighton and West Ham are being arses about it.
At the present time there is no way of stopping the spread of this virus (based on current knowledge) other than reaching a point where the majority of people have been exposed to it and built up some level of immunity. There is NO alternative to allowing greater numbers of people to become exposed to the virus and that's what will need to happen both from a health and an economic perspective. I didn't say anything about "everyone" and I think that the most vulnerable groups will and should remain restricted.
Also, I didn't say we should "do nothing". We've got elderly family just down the road from us that we haven't seen since lockdown and I think that's totally right to keep them safe and that will need to continue. Unfortunately for them, I think that this may the case for the rest of their remaining life.
Given that there is no "cure" and there never will be a "cure" as such - the quickest way to bring this to a stop is allow people to catch it - knowing that for the majority the symptoms are mild or none at all. That's what has to happen, that's what will happen and hopefully we will be able to protect the most vulnerable and have the resources to deal with it - and all the other life-threatening things that affect people - it's not just the coronavirus that threatens life - and life, at some point, must be allowed to go on.
Very true, had a look on the Norwich forum and they are the same saying should all be cancelled without relegation as they could survive due to having more home games left. Yeah right.
After 75% of the season the table is telling no lies and the majority of clubs will finish roughly where they are. PPG (even for those with games in hand) is the only obvious choice if the season cannot be finished. If some want to take out lawsuits then let them, just reduce their parachute payments due to Force de Mejur. Facts are the teams that are shit after 75% of games this season are just shit.

20 odd thousand turned outside Parc des Princes for PSG’s behind closed doors game in the Champions League in early March.
Whilst I expect that the vast majority would act sensibly and stay indoors on match day the opportunity to become Youtube famous will be too hard to resist for the same kind of idiots who pay a fiver for a pint at half time only to throw it at the concourse ceiling.
Both clubs have won 4 out of 14 at home and 1 out their last 5 home games, hardly prolificZero. Its not their fault Brighton and West Ham are being arses about it.
Fucking integrity from west sham ffs , Cheating horrible , we`ve got mates in the FA shitty arse club . The prem league need to grow balls and TELL everybody whats happening . I do hope them cunts go down !Brighton and West Ham talking about integrity but want relegation scrapping? Fuck off.
Why is it fair to promote some clubs and not others, whilst also not relegating anyone.
Neutral venues are the same for everyone.
Unprecedented situation yes but with single figure games left it will be an absolute joke imho to allow no teams to be relegated or just scrap the season.
It should be finished how ever long it takes as there's no benefit to cancelling this when nobody knows when the next can start properly anyway.
How long before a relegation threatened club try to throw a spanner in the works by claiming that some of their players are showing symptoms, refuse to play etc etc
