Oh, oh... Watford scrapping the production of football programmes...

... many clubs are likely to follow in due course, so your old programmes may become memorabilia collectors' items sooner that you think!
Numerous clubs up here that don't produce match day programmes, not just the lower Leagues.

Hibernian, Kilmarnock, Ross County.
Dundee United are do publish a programme but it's only available to purchase from the publisher/printer.

Ah, on demand printing of a digital version, smart compromise.

Its sad really football has changed so much and this is another nail in the coffin of yesteryear.

Not sure if this is rare.

Back to bitter sweet memories!

Sweet in that we got to a Semi-Final. Bitter in that we were predominantly battered on the day yet only lost to a questionable ‘elbows’ Shearer goal.

A couple of month’s later precisely the same Shearer elbow challenge was punished during World Cup 98, contributing to England’s exit to a 10-man Argentina.

Back to the painful memories.

Penalty #22 to be precise…

For some reason it used to make me irrationally angry using pictures of fans or the crowd on the programme. I presume it’s done in a slightly patronising “in the lower leagues it’s all about the fans, the real oddballs who aren’t sat at home watching Super Sunday or whatever” kind of way.

Forest at home play off semi always sticks out in my mind. Probably the best game I’ve ever been to and the programme cover was a close up looking right up somebody’s nose who was wearing the worst pair of sunglasses I’ve ever seen.

If anybody is interested, I have 450 Blades programmes (league/cups/friendlies - mainly from the late-80s to mid-2000s), a handful from the 70s, reserve programs, some star specials and a large number of Flashing Blades.

I'm open to offers and looking to hopefully get rid in bulk. If you want any more details, just ask.

Yesteryear two leg League Cup encounters.

Anyone remember this one?

Yes, I had missed the bus having seen the it go past the bus stop in Cemetery Road Dronfield so I decided to run to a bus stop at Wreakes Lane which was about a mile from where I live and managed to catch the same bus! Edwards came on as sub in the first half and scored a hat trick in our 5-1 win.

As far as I know the biggest club in England not to do a programme anymore is stoke, Blackburn don't do one anymore.
