Prince ?

Whoever made this decision should tell whoever asked for/demanded it to fuck off and leave them to stew. We had a contractor years ago from the Middle East who “refused” to be managed by a woman. Unbelievably, HR/Management went along with this until they were told in no uncertain terms to tell him to fuck off.

Roy, excellent reply mate. There was never any intent to offend, hope you appreciate that.

As you say, to remove the Prince is the only way we'll see the back of him.

Not at all mate. I think we are on the same page here

No mate. Get him a flying carpet and interrupt him with drones. Way to go!

Hes like the guy in front of the TV watching the national with his tenner on the 150/1 outsider jumping every fence with the horse.

Only he put a quid on at 200,000,000/1

He’s just keeping a close eye on his investment
He put £17m on, and counting, without which the club likely wouldn’t be second in the Championship

So I was a few boxes down from the prince and his chums yesterday. If he was at the lane to endear himself with us all he was badly advised. My experience was;

He turned up after his chums. His chums would not let me in the lift with them, with blades staff encouraging this behaviour.

The box that he was in had the door window blocked out

No female staff were allowed to be involved with the prince or his entourage, although they did had a young lady with them (who I presumed was related)

Sufc and security staff stood outside the box for the whole game

Security stood outside (pitch side) for the whole time he was present

None of the gang hung around to applaud the team after the win (stood up and walked out after the whistle Went)

So that was it, sooner he goes the better for us all if you ask me, not that I blame him. He stated from the beginning of this relationship, that he was in it with us to make cash!

I do believe both parties have buyers waiting in the wings post the court decision. Not sure who, or what this will mean to the blades and investment

Cheers Kev, keep it up pal, I’m sure you will win in the long run.

i used to work at sufc on the bar and when "important" guests arrived it was usually the upper management who would look after them, that person would usually be older and not the usual 18yr old who most get as their requests are usually more demanding.

i dont see this as an issue also lets not forget he is a Prince and the security issues that goes with that.

if im honest this member of staff has crossed the line by putting it on social media before raising it as an issue formally with her employers and she has shown herself to be immature and childish maybe thats why she was moved.

also good to see on twitter how many Christians have been reborn since this non event has happened.

I'm not one of these types that think at kev is a 100% blade and the prince is a twat that needs to leave us asap. People have short memories and if it wasn't for the prince we would probably still be in league 1. Remember that before the prince came along Kev wasn't going to put another penny into the club and we were signing players like Jasper Johns and heading to oblivion.....

How ever if that tweet is true then it doesn't make good reading at all for the Prince.
People do indeed have short memories. Kev is in no way perfect but it was he and not the prince that brought Wilder back to the Lane. It works two ways...........

Personally, I don't like to see the Prince slagged off on here and I think it's unwise since he could be in sole control in two months. I, like most I'm sure, want McCabe to win the case, for all the usual reasons, but if it is the Prince that wins then I think we need to give him a break. Most of us don't know the ins and outs of how much each of the two owners puts in and as Danny04 said if he's put £17m in then fair play. I don't really want to focus on this now, let's worry about the future after we know what division we're in.

I don't condone the refusal of being served by a woman if that's true, that doesn't sound good obviously.

There's no "if" about what he's put it in. The information is out there at Companies House. It's been discussed many times on here. The last Blades Leisure Ltd accounts show he'd put £16.6m in in share capital.

Fair enough, I was defending the Prince though to be fair!

If and I believe he will wins the court case ,it will be the end of Sheff Utd as we know it. Many staff including very important ones will not be here next season ,and it will be a slippery slope to a similar situation in Barnsley south. I just hope beyond hope he doesn't get what he wants. On a weekend when we should be so happy ,do we really need this ?

Got to ask Sitwell, when you say you believe the Prince will win, is that a hunch or more than that?

It’s obviously not good behaviour to refuse to be served by a woman, but is it really that big of a deal? Was she sent home and therefore lost a days pay? Was her job made more difficult as a result of being moved? I’d have thought no would be the answer, so I don’t see how the club could have treated an employee badly in this case.

Sheffield United Football Club aren’t going to change Saudi culture so why not just let them have their silly little requests, it’s the most sensible solution for all involved including the female staff.

I honestly do not understand some of the responses to this on here (if this is actually true).

Refusing to be served by a woman is behaviour that absolutely should not be tolerated by SUFC in 2019. I'm not 'shocked or surprised' by it as yes, it is consistent with the type of attitude you'd expect from Saudi royalty.

But.. so what? How shitty does someone have to be before you draw the line? How badly does their culture have to treat a portion of society (in this case, an entire half of it) before you stand up to their antiquated prejudice? This isn't the middle east, it's the UK. 'Respecting others culture' is for (at the very least) when you go to their country. He's in ours, and should abide by our norms.

'He has money so he can do whatever he wants'

...Are you kidding me? Are we a bunch of subservient doormats or do we actually have some balls?

Ridiculous and pathetic. We should be better than this.

You have to pick and chose your battles in life, and this isn’t something that I prepared to go into battle over.

If the consequence of him becoming more active at the club, bringing more Saudi (serious) money with him and financing a sustained top 5 push in the prem, is that a few part time employed young women are unable to serve lukewarm Lager and get your change wrong on a match day, then so be it. I’m fairly relaxed about it, no one’s died have they?

The bigger picture needs looking at, the top level of English football is being financed by petroleum dollars & oligarchs and it unfortunately comes with its down side. However, it’s worth remembering that you can’t make an omelette without breaking some eggs, and human rights abuses and regressive social practices have to weighed up against success on the pitch.

The pendulum of sexual equality has swung too much towards parity in my opinion since Emily Pankhurst, and there’s no harm in it being reset and going t’other way a bit.

I’m not 100% sure how I’d feel if we implemented some kind a ultra conservative dress code at the club, again, it’d have to be balanced off against success on the field in my personal view. I’d also like it not to be all black, and have some red & white on it to keep our identity, again, other than that quite, I’m quite happy to fit in with the owner’s personal preferences.

We shouldn’t expect to force our narrow world view of equality onto people from other countries & cultures in 2019; it’s neo colonialism. Also, as a general rule, I’m fairly ambivalent to issues that don’t directly concern me.

It seems to me that a lot of the furore about this is just virtue signalling and Wednesday fans kicking up dust. You don’t hear the do gooders on here moaning about the lack of men at the top level of the SUFC women’s team and claiming that it’s clearly matriarchal, female suprematist structure isn’t representative or befitting of modern football and society in general. They can’t have it both ways, eh?

That's pretty speculative. The truth is that we have no idea if the type of investment you name is even a possibility with the Prince. A top 5 prem push is a distant dream, not a specific promised goal under condition of implementing his personal rules.

'No-one's died have they?' is a line of logic which could be used to defend all manner of unspeakable actions, would you be willing to defend those as well?

What kind of human rights abuses would you be willing to tolerate for the money and how far could he go before you'd object? I'm genuinely curious. Is it ok if gays or women are banned from Bramall Lane at the whim of the prince? Neither of these would 'directly concern you', so no skin off of your nose? How much freedom to abuse human rights abuse does £50m get you, or £100m?

There is harm in it if you're a woman who happens to want to be treated equally to men.

Since you don't mind inequality i'd assume you wouldn't mind being treated more harshly because of your own particular gender or race or religious preference? Or is it just when others suffer from inequality that it's ok?

It is perfectly possible to run a successful football club without regressing to stone-age values, plenty of other clubs do it. I just don't buy into this idea that because someone has money you should acquiesce to their every demand.

If we want to keep the heart and soul of SUFC then we should aim to maintain the spirit and values that one commonly finds in Sheffield and Yorkshire, not Riyadh. If this is what success costs (and as i said above, it doesn't have to), then personally i'll pass until we can find another way, cheers.

That's probably the most offensive thing I've seen on here. Basically you've just put the female sex back to the days before the suffragettes and legitimised a stone age culture in respect of human rights.

You could have just told him it was a wanker post! :D

I’m sure McCabe had the box bugged !

Probably killed. But we’re welcoming over here, like I said. If that gentleman doesn’t want serving by a woman then so be it. He owns half the club. If he wants Go-go dancers serving him cocaine then he can
No he can't because it is illegal in this country.
