I'm also guessing when I say, could B56 actually be itk but making out it's all guesswork?
At a guess...........................yes!![]()
I confusd, everyone appears to be assuming it's Kev that's moving on. It was him that bemoaned the current management model in Monday's Q&A. Kev's a cunning old bugger that's seen off attempts to hand over the 'freehold'.
Having 100% predicted it would kicking off within days of the JTW closing I'm going to speculate again sorry Sean Thornton, no ITK just BladeyMcBladeFace gut feeling.........
Kev's triggered the clause (if one exists) disappointed in HRH investment.
This means HRH has to cough up ££££ or buy out McCabe out hence the statement from the club HRH negotiating to take control.
HRH fails to take control and Kev reclaims the other 50% (HRH get £1 back)
Kev has 100% control and a secret buyer in the wings (think it's stringjunior that can inform us if Chinese Dave is still on the scene)
Kev sells to Chinese and retires to beach in the Bhamas
Sheffield United thrash leeds 3-0
Thank you YHIHF

No, that's not a true reflection of what happened.
In 1996 we (including me) were getting a planning proposal together for redevelopment at Bramall Lane - Kevin was in charge of it and at around that time MacDonald stepped aside and McCabe became the owner.
Because we had to speak to the council, about the planning application, the council tried to get us to look at taking over Don Valley Stadium instead . They owned Don Valley and they being useless, thought it could be converted into a viable football stadium. The council were at a loss as to how to make the athletics venue pay and thought (being way behind contemporary thought), that a football pitch could work in the middle of the track and the stand could be extended all around it. As later events proved, the council was embarrassed by the under-used running track & were quite desperate to see more use, and probably hoped they could sell it.
So Kevin McCabe was forced to have his architect 'do a feasibility study' about moving to Don Valley, but it was only a fig leaf, - an architect went to Don Valley to keep up appearances, wrote less than a page of A4 about why it would be pointless to leave Bramall Lane and probably sent it to the planners or may have even mentioned it in a meeting with them .... but it was just paying lip-service to the council's request.
It was a fake 'feasibilty study', Kevin NEVER contemplated leaving Bramall Lane all the design work was about Bramall Lane at the time, the stadium and the hotel.
I think Mr Jelly Blade56 has been at the Vino againMy few minutes of fame![]()
I thought that 'Chinese Dave' was 'Big Vern's back up man during difficult door step client negotiations The Crab is he still on the books?
The 50 per cent owner of League One side Sheffield United trained as a quantity surveyor before setting up his first property business in his late 20s. He made his fortune from selling his Scarborough property operation to an Australian group in 2007.
McCabe's proceeds from the original sale should have been the £142.7m paid out to his family and trusts in a special dividend in 2007/08. His new company also called Scarborough Group, showed £21.7m net assets in 2014-15. With hefty spending on Sheffield United FC, we value the McCabe family at £97m after tax.
Not really immense resources in todays football world.

What about that time I sent you to that meeting in Turkey and you ended up on Banged Up Abroad?
Ungrateful bastard![]()
Well, he's not off the books yet as no body has been recovered. I rang last week to have a chat about some merchandise and the guy who answered the phone sais that he'd "gone away". Now, I know they are building a new bridge in that area. So, in the spirit of Crab Industries ethos, I'm sure that has almost nothing to do with the disappearance of Chinese Dave.
Funny though. Being in Turkey and caught with that chicken...
Err, Chefs "special" ?
I know. The Happy Crab needs some stock, so I sent him a text that said "if you find a Chicken, can you pluck it for me". Sadly, my predictive text went awry, and things got a bit Midnight Express for our man in Turkey.
He's not all bad though. Remember his decision to take one for the team in Deliverance, saving Burt Reynolds being tied to a tree? So a Turkish gaol wouldn't have been a huge problem.
Probably why he freaks out every time he hears a Banjo.......................
"I amglad the statement is now out there, thank you Kevin McCabe for all you have done, god bless, thank you Prince Abdullahfor all you have done, good luck for thefuture, UTB"
I am not sure if the quote is accurate taken from an earlier post apparently from Jims Facebook page, but if it is doesn't that sound like they are both leaving and somebody new is coming in ?
That would also tie in with what Chris said at the talk with Kevin about seeing what happens later in the week.
Kev's got a new buyer, triggers the clause knowing the Prince can't afford to buy thus forcing the Prince to sell.
Although i Am probably more like Inspector Cleuseau than Sherlock Holmes.
Yes I know, and I am proud of that too. However, all I'm saying is, any new owner does not have to have first hand knowledge or experience of these things, if that were the qualifier, we'd be waiting a lifetime to find a suitable owner. The 'seedier' areas are where our hard-core support has always come from, that's what sheffield united are all about.
If this thread is indicative of the thought process of Sheffield united fans then no wonder we haven't win a trophy since the titanic was still afloat

With the prince buying into a Belgium club. I would think there's an on going strategy here.If the prince did want out why buy a Belgian club with no Real big time future. The club statement says clearly that the process was started by Sheffield United Ltd. not the Prince. Kevin McCabe could have another buyer lined up but the Prince will have first option. Who knows at the moment?
