Brief summary again for anyone interested. Heavily paraphrased.
Adam Oxley
Couple of player checks to start Sam McCallum got a whack at weekend is he ok?
- He got an unbelievable whack I will be making a phone call, not happy with explanations received. Had lengthy treatment at HT but a doubt for Wed night.
Apart from that just bumps& bruises, alwasy had Kalvin down to do 60 mins. Would have brought Rom on but with Sam having to come off that altered plans.
BBD's played too much football IMO,
Considering all that and with a game wed and sat lunch do you have to take all that into account?
- Let's get all my moans and groans out the way, then I will be positive when players come in for meeting in about 20 mins - the schedule is ridiculous, xfer window ridiculous, having a game on the tues when window still open ridiculous, and fixtuire list is ridiculous. Want to progress in the cup so price we have to pay. No wonder us and other clubs picking up injuries
What can you do about that ?
- I can't do anything I'm a football guy, they dont take any notice of us as we saw in Man U v City game. So maybe not worth ringing him up after all, concentrate on the game
Everyone having to fit around European comps must be frustrating
- they have massive budgets and top players, just got to think about what's best for us
Could we see some youngsters get an opportunity then?
- no , we do have a strong squad, I liked the Blackburn away cup perf , made some changes and players fitted seamlessly having been involved in preseason, delighted with that
Are the four that are out on course to be back after international break?
- yeah - femi the last one to tick off but harrisson, ryan and chong will def be available
Blaster showing glimpses of pre injury form
yeah, great footballer, football mind, sheff u boy. He started the press, cut off passing lines against a top side. All pleased, been a tough ride for him
do u see him as player that could be adaptable , maybe wider
yeah smart footballer, smooth on the ball, one of the best receivers of the ball, maybe could play in the pocket Gus did, play 10 for us
Fleetwood thoughts, unbeaten so far?
- Anyone who's worked thru the leagues will understand the attitude of Matt, esp with a sprinkling of Sheff Utd boys they've got will up the ante. Good side. Soemtimes easier v Prem teams when got nowt to lose. Want to get thru and pull a big name next round to reward supporters.
Impressed with how Ched is finsihing his career?
- yeah keeping fit, still scoring goals. Been into coaching at Preston. Same with Sharpy. Was a reason why we signed him , enjoyed working with him. He'll be handful for our back 3.
Do you remember last trip to Fleetwood?
I do - will never forget it, there's a reason why!
EEL late equaliser, quite a day
Uwe Rosler was manager, pulled my hamstring sprinting down the line, proposed to my wife that night at Handsworth social club, how could I forget it?
Danny Hall
what you got planned tomorrow to top that?
- don't think I can
Is it nights like this it's important to know whats under the bonnet?
- I know what's under the bonnet now. Didn't trust the group last year do trust this group.
That level of trust must be huge
- always underpinned everything. Mentioned about Hull last season, hopefully we've got that now.
Question about Blasters adaptability again
- takes on board what you're trying to do
How has it been seeing him through his ups and downs?
- got character, he's a winner. Sydie's a winner. Femi and Ryan One will have to go through the same at times . Have to fight your way thru it. Have to deal with social media negativity.
Would you advise them to stay off social media?
- stay away 100%. Young ones do tend to go on it though.
When Ched was here did you see that coaching thing in him?
- laughs. Maybe nobody saw that in me at 21. He's a smart guy, still playing and enjoying it. Getting his badges at a championship club shows he had respect of coaches and players. Imagine he's involved in that side at Fleetwood and will be part of process to try and upset us on Wed night.
