Didn't Steve Conroy break his collar bone in that St Mirren game ... ** cough splutter ** step forward a certain Derek Richardson just in time for Boxing Day 1979!!!

Not sure about Conroy memories not as good as it should be
But remember sat on a pile of snow around the pitch at Walsall winning 4-3 with seconds to go and Richardson let the softest shot ever go through his legs

That was the infamous Walsall game where we'd scored deep in injury time (Hatton off top of my head), only for them to go straight up the other end, without a united player getting a touch on the ball, to score to make it 4-4.

If we'd held on to that lead we wouldn't have gone down to the 4th. Having said that, knowing that team they'd have only chucked it away somewhere else in stead!!!

Me too, I spent a good 5 years living in Dundee and adopted them as my second club. Thoroughly enjoyed a good few trips to Tannadice and to the semi final and eventuality watching them lift the Scottish Cup.
Would've been a great excuse to head back up.

Shame no fans allowed, working in Aberdeen so would have been able to nip down to watch.

Indeed. I like Dundee, I'd have made the trip up. Would've been a rare opportunity to watch Utd and get home at a decent time.

That said, Dundee Utd have been absolutely brutal to watch since Micky Mellon took over. Proper industrial, park the bus and take your chances stuff.

Bob Hatton had put us 4-3. Up if memory serves me right last minute it was they scored the equaliser straight from the kickoff yes it was freezing
