"I worry that we may not be able to combat their brand of strongarm skullthuggery"

P.S. What fucking planet is Oxford on?

Reading some of those strange comments got me wondering if other fan forums do the same kind of 'View from...' thing?

It would be interesting to see what the selection of our own comments on other teams look like and if we are as mentally retarded as some of the Oxford fans clearly are.

Those comments are laughable and their fans come across as a set of people who don't pay any attention to anything outside of their own club. How Wilder can be seen as doing no more than his predecessors is unbelievable and shows that they have no idea about our recent history.

They are absolutely mental
They are also clueless.

Look at this latest comment on their forum;

Interesting match coming up tomorrow.

Sheffield United have been playing 3-4-1-2 the last 5 matches, with O'Connell, Wright and Basham as the back 3. I will be interested to see Martinez against Wright. I think we can get at Basham also.

Just the 5 matches?! Haha!

How would Jake Wright be their fourth choice centre back?

The same way Coventry are better off without Fleck.

Don't think I've seen many starker contrasts in the view from threads before. I get that leaving Oxford for Northampton is like leaving us for Leeds, but how people let that cloud their judgement so severely I don't know.

The thing with those comments is that I don't see the bitterness as the main issue - that's secondary. They are simply uneducated, and don't understand what they are talking about.

Basically most of them are thick.

Maybe I'm giving them too much credit but the comments that Wilder's done nothing of note since leaving them reeks of spite.

Oxford, city of learning.

Wilder, in first is doing no better than his predecessor who finished 8th.

Wilder, who has attained more points in 35 matches than Adkins in 46 matches is doing no better.

Based on the above 2 statements, what is x?

Used to like Oxford. Unfortunately it's been apparent since they returned to the football league that they are deluded knobs with an almighty sense of entitlement.

Then again, winning the Milk Cup in 1985 is bound to make you believe that you have a divine right to take your place amongst the giants I suppose......

Don't get me wrong they are bitter, no doubt, but a lot of it is based on poor knowledge.

They think we're a counter attacking team, who's main asset is physical strength, we bully teams and have only played our 3-5-2 formation for five games.

That's just the tip of the iceberg.

They just have zero football awareness.

A lot of the comments were exactly the sort of thing you'd expect to hear from MK Dons fans. Similar area of the country too, that probably has something to do with it.

last 2 comments are probably the truest

“He’s a fantastic manager. He has the biggest ego sure. But his achievements with Northampton last year were stunning.
He’d come to the end of his time with us, but the guy has talent. “

“No one can deny he is a very good manager, but I still don’t like him!”

all managers are like Marmite when they leave this covers what we want to know
always ignore the bitter posts , they generally never understand football any way

After reading that, I now know where Pompey and Pinchy's kids reside.

Well once they dont base them on TYLER , LYDON , pommpey , on 2nd thoughts

“The stats they tell exactly the same story for Wilder. Northampton created very few chances all season (compared to the best team in the division….and several others).

Until I read that I had no idea what a pathetic performance Wilder put in at Northampton last season. 99 lucky, lucky points, how does he get away with it.

Oxford..the city of dreaming spires, the smack leather of on willow and some of the 'top brains' in the country...

“He took Northampton up last year. He’s done nothing else of note. He’s doing OK with Sheff Utd at the moment, but no better than most of his predecessors."

Fucking hell has that crackpot never looked at a league table and looked at the news ? " No better than most of his predecessors" ? YE GODS he would have had to be as bad as Weir to be no better !!1

Well he clearly got the Blades job under false pretences as his record of 99 points was utter shit - how did they not get 100 points with that side is sheer incompetence. We have to get rid now before its too late and get Michael Appleton in who has won errrrrr ................Just a minute it will come to me.................... Oh god its frustrating ......... Ive got it now its fuck all !!!!!!!!!!
