We've obviously got the wrong man:

“Unless CW takes Sheff Utd there or another Championship club on a Watford-esque roll, he is highly unlikely to manage in the top flight. He’s an old-fashioned manager who is a dying breed.
Appleton is tomorrow’s man. "

Wilder out!

Appleton is tomorrow’s man. And if he learns – what, he must be 5 years behind CW in developement as a young manager – how to mix up styles of play and tactics (eg Wimbledon) and basically do the old-fashioned stuff more, I’m pretty convinvced he will manage in the PL.”
WTF?!!!
Appleton?!!!!

“He took Northampton up last year. He’s done nothing else of note. He’s doing OK with Sheff Utd at the moment, but no better than most of his predecessors.
Biggest ego, and most conceited arsewipe in lower league football? Yeah, he’d win that one hands down.”

Good job you were born in a university town, because that's the only f*****g way you'd ever have got there

As I said some time ago...

Ive just seen this guy interviewed on Football Focus and he really is a zero watt bulb. "Ive had to play a hand which has been forced on me" You mean as opposed to when youre allowed to pick the cards you want?

Oxford..the city of dreaming spires, the smack leather of on willow and some of the 'top brains' in the country...

How would Jake Wright be their fourth choice centre back?
I actually understand their comments regarding Jake Wright. If he'd stayed at Oxofrd he would be sat on the bench, his game time time was dwindling whilst their.

Here, he has been given a chance to flourish and show what he can do in a good team - wouldn't have had that opportunity at Oxford.

I seem to remember that they seemed like a strange, aloof and thick bunch in the other view from this season too. I suppose this one confirms it.

Football's just weird. Some things just work out sometimes. Clearly they have some gripe with Wilder, but he was a great fit at Northampton and seems to be with us, playing great passing football too.

As somebody else on here pointed out - Adkins had undeniably great success at Scunthorpe and Southampton.

Oxford fans need look no further than their own manager. Before he got them promoted and stabilised them in division 3 his record was absolutely atrocious, with his only full season at a club ending in relegation and an average win % of less than 25%. I guess they have a myriad of explainations for that, as might he, but I'm pretty sure Portsmouth, Blackburn and Blackpool fans largely think he's a big ol' bag of shit.

The mind boggles reading that shite - fuckin idiots

Cheers Roy!

Somewhere in Oxford there exists a dark room, way below the basement, padded and securely locked. Within these four walls there exists a rabble of delusional Oxfordian's, somehow believing that they know more than anyone else. Have these gullible's failed to notice how well we've been doing? Have they failed to notice how their former player has adjusted to his new club and shown qualities they would sorely benefit from?

Bunch of inward thinking, ill-informed 'purists' who think their opinions count for anything.
