Hardest View From since the L1 days this due to lack of comments. Are they the smallest club we've played in the league for 10 years?

Yes. It's good to be back. Oh and a gold medal

This is our first league fixture against Lincoln since 1983-4.

Since then, we have beaten them 6-2 over 2 legs in the league cup in 2000-1 and lost on pens to them at the Lane in a standard pathetic league cup showing 3 seasons ago after a 0-0 draw.

In 1983-4 we won 2-0 at Lincoln thanks to a King Keith brace, one a beautiful free kick, and drew 0-0 at home in a dour contest. We also played them in the 2nd round of the FA Cup, drawing 0-0 at Sincil Bank and winning 1-0 at home with a last minute back header by Paul Stancliffe from a corner. A young John Fashanu was in the Lincoln team I remember.

Their most recent, and only, victory in the league at the Lane was a 1-0 win at the end of the forgettable 1982-3 season. Lincoln came close to promotion to the second tier two years running, but it took them 40 years to actually do it.

Lincoln are almost perfectly set up to beat us at the Lane. Good solid defence, tall, fit side, shoot well and counter attack well. Their away defensive record is excellent (although it's a small sample size).

It could get ugly.

and yet they are still giving it out expecting a win, our seeming fall from grace just seems to get worse!

You know you can actually see Lincoln Cathedral from Sheffield? If you go up to Ringinglow on a clear day with a pair of binoculars… Also Humber Bridge and York Minister,

Now you may be thinking “ whats that got to do with football?” and the answer is ……absolutely nothing

You may also be thinking “those are pretty boring facts.”… and you would be absolutely correct…

But…. I think I can safely guarantee you it’s all a lot more interesting and entertaining than anything we are likely to witness tomorrow during the 90 minutes

I like a bit of over-confidence in the views from but in fairness it's literally a handful of comments.

Hopefully a half respectable performance and win of any kind from us, otherwise I fear the natives will get restless or even worse, apathetic.

Tomorrow will be my first time seeing us play a home fixture in the League against Lincoln.

I did see us play at Lincoln in the League on a Wednesday night in Sept 1982. Blade fan Gordon Hobson had given them the lead just before half time. During half time I was leaning on a crowd crush barrier watching the Blades fans running towards Lincoln fans and one of them running was my Uncle Ronnie so I grabbed his arm to say hello to him. He was startled to see me there as he knew that I had stopped going to matches regularly because I was playing football on Saturdays. He didnt know what to say to me but on realising that I shouldnt have stopped him running I then told him "off you go" so he carried on running towards the Lincoln fans!

You can actually go into my garden and see the sun on a clear day ,without binoculars, beat that.

‘withstand the initial 15-minute wave’

We’re not Brighton…we look like we’re still on the beach. 🥴

They're substantially better than us, aren't they? My money would be firmly on Lincoln.
