As long as he avoids the Mousset takeaway trail....

In all seriousness, he doesn't really strike me as a Wilder player and his more recent half-assed performances aren't likely to endear him to the coaching staff.

And it's difficult. Young lad away from home for the first time. Leaving his friends, family and the pleasures of London for our northern wasteland. Can't be easy.

Our "Northern Wasteland" probably doesn't look too bad from his luxury pad in Dore, or some other salubrious location where he is probably slumming it.

Agree on his recent performances though. He hasn't looked at the races at all. That might be down to tiredness or because he was nursing a slight niggle which has since become more serious.

I still think he is a valuable asset to have in the squad, even if we only get one more potent spell from him before the season's end......assuming of course he will be here. The sliver lining is seeing Brooks get another chance, as he looked great on Sunday.

Do 22 year old really think that way though? Presumably they want to go out and do stuff, which is very simple in London. Especially when you're minted. I can't imagine most lads his age want to go walking in the Peaks or enjoy the view.

I'm not suggesting we should send him back. Even if he's inconsistent, he's a game changer and we need that.

I think too much is being made of his form drop. it's to be expected with young loanees who are playing up a level. We know this when we sign them. The only way I see him going back In Jan (loan contract permitting) is if his injury looks like it'll make him unavailable for 'too long', and if we have sights on another loan target to replace him

It depends what kind of stuff I suppose. Admittedly there will never be as much to do around here, or in most cities as there is in London. But my impression is that footballers have changed quite a bit from the old lads about town type, and a lot of their spare time is probably spent relaxing at home and looking after themselves. Places such as Stoke, Boro, Burnley, Norwich, Hull etc would also never be given the time of day by London based players, if local activities were part of the attraction.

A certain J McAtee begs to differ with this kind of snap judgment at the half way stage of a Championship season...
McAtee was on fire by the midway point of the season and only really had one poor game right at the start, By October he was involved in games and playing well and improving game on game

I'm not sure on that.
My memory is that he had one great game around Xmas time (I think it was away to Cardiff) and suddenly he, and everyone else, realised what he was all about.
Thereafter, he was great.
