So we continue to drop deep to make it even harder for our midfield - a midfield which consisted of two kids and a winger towards the end.

Why do we insist on only defending when we have a lead late in games, regardless of the opposition?

Good positive first half against a woeful Crewe side. Unbelievably we reverted back to the usual Adkins style in the 2nd half - sitting back and giving them loads of room.

We looked like losing when it went to 2-2 but a quality goal and great last ditch block by Done saw us home.

Happy to win as always but we really are poor.

Reminded me of the Shrewsbury game. That started like it was going to be easy. We dropped a gear. Then they tore through our right at will.

Wasted chances. Again.

2-0 was against the run of play.

6' added time I thought we might even conspire to lose it.

That sort of defensive capitulation does make me wonder about Hammond's unseen work.

Another goal from a free shot outside the box.

Crazy game.
 
This thing, where you see the opposition coming out early & vigorously warming up before our lot amble out, has been commented on before.

Crewe reshuffled & went for it; we looked like zombies for a while.

Shame, because it was a decent first half performance (& there were spells of quality 2nd half, not least the move for the winning goal). Credit to Crewe, fighting for their lives, I suppose.

It's like you've forgotten that you spent most of the season slagging us off when we told that the team wasn't very good and wouldn't go up.
I'm pleased the penny very belatedly dropped for you and now you're well and truly on the bandwagon.

It was a bizarre low key end to the game. He didn't do the point at the centre spot. Maybe there'll be an enquiry and we'll play the last two minutes tomorrow afternoon or something.

Adkins credibility is on a fine line at the moment . He has to review the situation with Hammond , as he will not become any better next season even with different more athletic players around him . It becomes more evident after every game . Hammond may still come but let it be as a coach , not a first team player .

I thought Hammond was the answer , but he has yet to show it , and don't think he is capable .

Spend the money not blow it as we nearly blew the game today .

I constantly said it was possible IF we brought in 2 or 3 players
a constant in my argument you fail to mention

This inaction in bolstering the team is whats prompted me saying the guys no good
if he couldnt see what everyone could hes not the man for the job
Its still mathematically possible , or would be if we had a good manager

3 decent players like barnsley brought in to get to 6th

I don't know what was worse, the relentless bollocks about us going up until about 3 weeks ago or the relentless bollocks now about him always saying that Adkins was bobbar. Both very tedious.

Courts can only play for about 45 minutes at full pelt and then needs replacing. Flynn looked totalled knackered in the last 20 minutes and Hammond can run all day at 60% of the speed of everyone else. Whitman's ball to Reed for the winner was a better ball than I've seen Hammond play all season

Att the board - please don't let Adkins pay more than a pittance of a wage to secure Dean Hammond in the summer.

Att Adkins - please ask yourself WHY you keep hooking Hammond on 60/70 mins before you spunk a significant percentage of the wage budget on him. We could do so much better.

We need to keep hold of Adams and Sharp. It would be naive in the extreme to think that there will not be Championship interest in both this summer. As the only really saleable commodities at the club, I fear the worst !

WTF has happened to John Brayford ? A shadow of his former self. Buck your ideas up fella.

As has been said, overall that has to go down as yet another poor performance against a woeful Crewe side. We were more than a bit lucky today.

Our tempo in the transition is piss poor. I do get that there will be worries about getting done on the counter, but fuck me, it's Crewe not Arsenal !

What was needed today was a dominant performance and a comfortable / large win to build confidence for the run in. What we actually got was a performance that raised more questions than gave answers. Which at this stage in the season is unacceptable.

But I guess 3 points is 3 points !!!!

Flynn played really well in the first half and was a threat going forward. His defensive play is poor and he was responsible for their goal, backing out of a challenge against their man.
