Potential first team players from today?

For me Besic and Luke Freeman. Besic plays the defensive midfield role well and I can see him starting an away game soon. Luke Freeman looks class, I really hope he stays. Nice to see Clarke score, but it could have been the last time we see him. Kieron Freeman looks a shadow of his former self.

Thought Rodwell looked good for someone who hasn't played a great deal of football recently. Composed, picked out some nice passes and sound defensively.

Put simply it's not a great exercise to judge this question. Against Barnet last year we had some awful performances from players that when called upon did jobs when asked a month or two later – Freeman, Johnson and Cranie were all terrible, and then all 3 put in decent performances in the win at West Brom.

Ravel Morrison had some moments where he looked world class but he's obviously not there yet.

Even though the opposition was not of a high standard, apart from K Freeman (who I really like), I don’t think there would be a problem using any of them individually to do a job in the first team. However, three or four might create an issue for us. As for Rodwell, looked ok. He has the idea of overlapping centre backs but not quite, as yet, the positioning. This became evident when Bash came on. The whole complexion of the game changed. Looking forward to seeing Rodwell develop. Also thought Morrison was ok and gave a lot.

Just said it in the matchday thread but the players that were positives are the ones already on the subs bench. The ones like Ravel that you hoped would make an impression simply haven't.

Thought Kieran Freeman did ok but we will be looking to upgrade at some point. Besic was my motm but without being too critical it was a more ‘job done’ performance than anyone really catching the eye. We just don’t have the premier league quality strength in depth that some do but that takes time

This, really, but the problem both have is that they don't seamlessly fit into our current system. They offer different options, but we'd have to change how the midfield plays if they were playing every week.

I thought Osborn was a bit of a liability at left wingback but I've been quite impressed when he has previously come on in midfield.

Besic, L Freeman, Jags all looked a class above. Besic the standout performer for me.

Rodwell was good and I would have liked to have seen him for longer.

K Freeman, Osborn, Clarke and Robinson did ok but don’t look PL quality. Osborn has a great work rate and energy.

Ravel and Bryan are poor. Both need to do much better to be anywhere near the first team. After the Sunderland game I was worried about the lack of cover for LCB and that remains. Bryan was a little better today, but I was so angry with him putting Verrips out of the game unnecessarily.

Verrips looked very composed with the ball at his feet and dealt with everything he had to. Real shame his game ended early.

- Rodwell looked very handy and got a good understanding of the overlap system. Delivery was good as well.

- Keiron Freeman was shite, looked mainly disinterested.

- Robinson looks like he is handy but has large parts of games where he looks like a deer in headlights and completely lost

Thought opposite to your views Luke Freeman gave the ball away plenty second half and when he has it doesn't do a lot with it while first half k Freeman had a lot of the ball and delivered a lot of quality balls in my opinion none of the eleven that started against a national League side are ready to break into the first eleven mediocre at best

I was a bit disappointed with Osborne. Him and Luke Freeman combined nicely at times but doesn't have anything like the gravitas that Stevens has

Yes. He chose the wrong option for the goal. In no mans land and not for the first time this season. Looks like he's not learning from his mistakes. UTB

I thought on the whole K Freeman was poor today, but I think it's more a confidence issue than him being disinterested. He was kicking the advertising hoardings in frustration when he delivered one poor cross.
