Where do you think we'll finish next season?

And for automatic

2007: 84
2008: 81
2009: 88
2010: 86
2011: 88

average: 85

I'm never sure whether one should take the amount the 3rd place team got as "what to beat", or what the 2nd team got as "what to match"...

I did it on the basais of one more point than 3rd place.

Which in those seasons would only ever have got you third...

Either way, we need to be aiming for 38-41 more points, and obviously the sooner the better. 3 points at Hillsborough and at huddersfield would probably reduce the figure.

I'd be really interested to know, for the seasons we have above, the points totals after 24 matches, but that is trickier to track down!

On the other hand if the second placed team had got only 1 more point that the 3rd placed team (as opposed to however many they actually got), they would still have got promoted.

Here's the table when Wednesday had played 24 games last season (and some had played 26).

http://www.swfc.co.uk/page/LeagueTable/0,,10304~20110122,00.html

Brighton at the top had played 24 and had 1 less point than we have now, which suggests the top 2 this season will do better than last season. I reckon 90+ this season will be needed for automatic

It would be nice to see who voted for what, Can admin reveal this?

Yeah, reveal! I forgot what I voted :D

Possibly "Top half but out outside playoffs" but knowing me, I wouldn't be surprised to see I voted "Bottom half by=ut not relegated".

What you voted will be in italics

I voted top half but out of the play-offs. At the time I think I was right to vote for that one, I'm sure most would agree that we are doing a lot better than expected this season.

dont think i even voted this as i was so unsure of what was in store this season

As did I...

Completely agree, I did the same and long may it continue!

Much improved on where I thought we'd be (bottom half). Credit to Wilson for doing that with so many of last seasons under acheivers.

If we were to do the poll again I'd go play-offs on the basis that being wrong again would probably mean we went up automatically.
