The only positive Birch can bring the club is recommending to McCabe that the pathetic manager is removed from his position. Now would be a perfect time.

Birch cannot move the property market in McCabe's favour and he cannot make money grow on trees and he cannot shift season tickets.

Just remember that Trev sells himself as an insolvency expert.
thought i reading a post on porktalk for a minute

Yes please.

Birch cannot move the property market in McCabe's favour and he cannot make money grow on trees and he cannot shift season tickets.

Agree wi that bit

Just remember that Trev sells himself as an insolvency expert.

He's much more than that, Chelski tried to keep him ;)

JTW will tell us a lot.

Nope - Blade through and through Judgey.

What's your take on things at the moment? For most of this season, I have seen a dreadful, disjointed side lacking any cohesion and plan, although the big, big plus is the spirit and they do seem to be battling away inspite of an embarressing lack of quality and leadership. We still have a chance and that is a huge positive.

i dont think you are a pig for one minute ,i was just pointing out that your post was only missing laughing about us having a hotel and mentioning we havent won a cup for 75 years from being word for word every anti united thread on there

Beighton, excuse my ignorance but who is JTW?

edit;

January Transfer Window............doh!

I think the following side, if it plays 90% of remaining games could take us into the play-offs. (How long is Kyle out for?)

Bunn
Walker, Marce, Morgs, Gaz
Wardy, Willo, Harps, Quinny
Daz Henri

No change of formation for away games, no changes for the opposition. Play the same side and/or system week in week out and pray that lot stay fit and pray Bunny doesn't drop any.

Finally some positivity.......

Recent positives;

- Mark Bunn (improved performances)
- Matt Kilgallon (regaining some form)
- Gary Naysmith (close to returning)
- Derek Geary (returning from injury)
- Jamie Ward (consistently our best player)
- James Harper (improved performances)

Its no wonder our points haul has improved recently and its mostly thanks to the above. Hendo getting injured is the only sour note.

Im going to stick my neck out and make a positive prediction - Blades to have a solid second half to the season (5th or 6th place finish) :thumbup: UTB!!!

Id imagine this thread will get more use when Hoofwell is finally relieved of his duties.

fa cup.....

ward = GREAT
geary = great
cresswell = great, throws himself at things some people would pull away from,
ched = coming on... was unlucky but showing promises...
williamson = good....

all round a strong, positive game....

who's off to the bolton match?

I'd like to praise the lads for their performance on Tuesday night! It was a very spirited performance and I think the 500/600 fans who went certainly enjoyed the players hard work.

- Ward made a real difference when he came on and looks electric. He is very dangerous and a real asset to the team/club.

- Harper put in a very good shift. He got stuck in and did well in his defensivve duties. He didn't do anything special, but always makes himself open and rarely loses the ball.

- Monty: typical battling performance, but also some very creative moments.

- Quinn: at times frustrating, but at times just pure class (i.e 2nd goal). he also worked very hard and battled making himself a constant nuiscance.

- Seip: He was simply ubiqitous! What a full debut. There was just no way past him. a rock!

- Creswell: Very hard working performance and keeps banging in goals.

- Evans: showed flashes of why he was our big signing. Strong, good touch and good link up play. He's lacking in confidence a bit and needs a goal, but he could turn out to be top quality yet.

I woule like to add to this thread how impressed I have been with Willo - in the few appearances he has made so far. If we can get him fully match fit and sharp again he could be a real asset.

I was a little surprised at how good he is. When we signed him I knew of his goal scoring exploits at Rotherham but he never seemed to produce quite the same form for Watford at a higher level. I thought he would just be a useful squad player but if he plays like this on a regular basis he should be one of the first names on the teamsheet.

He seems to have a good understanding with Harper as well. With Ward on the right and the addition of a creative left sided player I would be very happy with that midfield. Quinny and Monty would be good competition for three of the positions as well.

Praise to United for just being United.

Fell in love with them in the late 70's, thanks to my old man.

Was warned they would always disappoint and break my heart. (And they've certainly not let me down on this front :))

But at the end of the day thats what being a Blades is, and I wouldnt change it or them for anything.

Specialist interest literature just like everyone else.

Hear hear Lou.

I'd see a midfield of:

Ward Harper Williamson Quinn

We could bring someone in for the left hand side, but it muight not be necessary if Quinn plays like he did against QPR every week. The main thing for me is competition for places. People need to be kept on their toes. If Harper and Williamson know that of they don't perform they'll simply be dropped for Monty (or Quinn) then they're less likely to be play badly.

True. I think we have 5 or 6 good midfield players. Quinny has played well of late but I think he's better in the middle - just lacks a little bit of pace to play wide left. I would like to see someone a bit more clever down that side to take pressure off the left back (a Boyd or McSheffrey would fit the bill).

I always measure the quality of a team by its midfield. I like to see a strong lineup in that area. I would be very happy with our options if we can just get that little bit more quality on the left :thumbup:

Just Menus really.
