Talking of Ryan Kent, article in this mornings rag saying Liverpool (Klopp) pissed off with loaning his players out and them not getting much game time

Says that they are now contemplating introducing financial penalties to clubs who loan their players and then don't play them

If that is correct, I think any loans we go for won't include Liverpool players

If the Klopp story carries weight, then my own opinion is that I hope all lower league clubs fk them off and let the Liverpool players rot in the reserves if that is indeed his view. Loan players, whether Liverpools or anyone elses should get in the side on merit, not because they come form some jumped up Premier League club. The benefit of loaning players out doesn't just suit the club loaning the said player, but also gives valuable first team experience to the said loanee and improves preparation for the player returning to his parent club to enable him to push for a first team place, therefore everyone benefits.

Agree with the sentiment, and I would add that if Klopp is unhappy with his loan players not getting game time then he needs to assess if they really have the quality to be Liverpool players, either let them go, or see that they go on loan to a level where they are able to compete physically, or fit a club that players a system to suit his player.
Their youth set up has hardly been turning out player after player has it.

Vela's an interesting one and I'm also thinking he could be one of the best shouts.

Physically I look at him and think he looks really fit and combative. Enough so to comfortably fit into our intensity.

He's quite a hardworking and technically good player and for me he's proven quite a lot with his recent positional change and goalscoring.

Throughout his career though he's quite equally played RB, DM, CM and CAM. The RCM slot in our team looks perfect for him. It's a combination of all those. It wouldn't stop him getting forward and scoring goals.

He's not as good on the ball as Coutts, not many are, but I think he'd be a good fit for the position and our team.

I think he'd want a move from Bolton, I reckon he's sick of playing in that team. He's contracted until 2019. Not sure what he'd cost but I'd guess £2m to £3m.

My problem with him is that he seems like a bit of a dickhead. There was an episode last season with him getting chucked out of a restaurant which he came out of looking a right cunt.

But he's young. And he does seem to genuinely really care about his football.

Vela's apparently available for £3.5m (Alan Nixon).

Too much for us. I'd be happy to pay up to £2.5m but that's probably too much as well.

Doubt we'll be signing another midfielder permanently now we're getting Leonard anyway.

Amari Bell - Fleetwood left back out of contract in the summer. Thought we might have gone for him last summer. Good athlete and highly rated. Seemingly on the verge of a move to Blackburn for 200k. I realise he'd be a bit of a spare part but he'd probably be an improvement on Lafferty and for that money he could be worth a punt.

Good chance to look at him on BBC1 now playing for Fleetwood in the FA Cup.

I thought Adelakun would have a big season last season but he never broke into their team. Looks like he's starting to click now, in which case it's the time for somebody to take a punt on him. Bit like with Jack Marriott last summer for example. He's out of contract in 6 months so should be gettable but apparently Scunny want £1m. We'll have looked at him but I think we're intent on loaning somebody for that position in this window.

Nolan looked good for Chesterfield and I'm not surprised to see him doing well in a team at the top of L1. 25 now but look where Duffy was at that age - Morecambe in L2.

Adam Hammill seems to be able to do this a lot for Barnsley, maybe we could pinch him just to piss them off and then loan him to another team next season?

I'm assuming we're after at least one more player. The obvious position is attacking midfield. Duffy normally gets subbed and Carruthers really isn't the answer. Whilst we have Brooks we could use another, preferably on loan. We're short if Brooks gets injured.

Cracking deal by Neil that. Was only a year ago he moved to Norwich for £7mil. That's the january transfer window for you though.

Yep, can play on both sides. Think he's played on the left more. Might've played wing back too but not certain on that.

He's a Wilder type of player IMO so I won't be surprised if we're linked in the summer. Cardiff will probably sign him though.

Real shame he got injured when he did last season. He Had shown flashes - certainly when he bagged a Hattrick in the cup and must have been eager to kick in after that.

Would have been a good signing if we played 4-2-3-1 or a system with wide players. Not sure he’s an upgrade on Brooks, Duffy or Holmes for the 10 spot so would be a bit of a luxury but wouldn’t say no at a league 1 prices
