Can anyone believe the BBC stats that say we had 56% of the possession last night ?

It seemed like 60% for MK and although they didn't do a great deal with it at our end of the pitch, I can't believe we dominated possession last night.

Its the BBC so it has to be true Jim

The possession stats are still close and can often be quite misleading.

If a team is hanging on to the ball (recycling from left to right / right to left for example) a lot without a lot of quick passing and movement in a more progressive manner than it can give a false impression.

When that stats are close like these, better to trust your own eyes IMHO.

Most important stat is 2-1 : 3 points !

UTB.

The BBC possession stats are bollocks. A game earlier this year (I think it was the Huddersfield game) I was keeping an eye on with the 'live' text they do. With 5 minutes to go, it had us down as having had somewhere close to 70% of the possession. At the end of the game, the stats suddenly said pretty much 50/50. Even if the opposition held the ball for the full 5 minutes and for 5 minutes added time, it couldn't possibly cause a change like that.
So in my considered opinion, bollocks. :)

I think when it say 70% possession during a game it is for a certain period maybe the last 15 mins then at the end of the game it shows the full 90 mins stats

I watched the live BBC summary last night (to a background of Stan Kenton, Shorty Rogers and other favourites). For most of the first half they showed possession at 60 - 40 in favour of the Blades. In the second half it suddenly dipped to 51 - 49. With about ten minutes to go it changed to 56 - 44. Very confusing.

That was the same on Bladesplyer Broomers. Same feed no doubt.
