I think there were positives from yesterday, not I think everything is great and there may issues to resolve no doubt, especially the left hand side of defence which just couldn't cope with any cross but when (if) players are signed and return from injury that should be resolved, but we have a new manager and had a very restricted pre-season, not got any new players in and I'm sure Slav would have wanted some if possible. It does look as the team need to work on the formation and get used to, too many players looked unsure or just not good enough in it.
Berge second half looked quality when he pushed forward, and there were signs both Lys and Brewster will do ok in this league. A couple of nice runs and crosses, though I'd prefer both in the middle then playing so wide. McBurnie looked ok as well in the brief time he was on. Burke is a problem, fast yes but too often just runs the ball out or out of ideas what to do. I have no idea how bad Lys injury is, but if even out for a few weeks I'd keep Jebbo which would be another benefit. I have way more concerns about defence and midfield than attack tbh.
The other thing we are going to see, again, just like last time we were in this division, is teams defending with 9 players, time wasting, rolling about for no reason and cynical yellow cards. Especially if they take the lead, which is exactly what Brum did yesterday, especially in that second half. The team and the fans need to get used to it again. Last time we had the players and formation to overcome it on most occasions, not sure at the moment we have but the manager needs to resolve this and quickly otherwise we will see many more games like yesterday.
